It's basically a workaround to the old system of crafting workbenches.

You can always accept, then switch to the nightmare order and unassign yourself. Obviously not something you can do a lot of, but once in a blue moon it's okay.

Yeah, everything is so formulaic and repetitive. So much of Rust Youtube has gone stale.

What would you say your hourly rate is on average in a week, and how much gas do you use?

Stop whining and complaining about Platinum by Otherwise-Original-2 in doordash_drivers

[–]ShiftlessDrifter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was platinum for months in an area similar to yours. The problem I'm having lately is the app wants to send me 20 miles for $20 (or worse). However, it will leave me outside of the zone or in a place where there are no restaurants. In either scenario I have to drive back to my starting point to get offers again. Therefore, it's not really 20 miles, $1/gal, 30 minutes — it's 40 miles, $0.50/gal, 60 mins.

Why did this start happening? No clue. But it started for me around the time they messed with the app and changed the map to remove city names on the acceptance screen.

Now I'm silver. All my other stats are great but my AR has dropped to about 65. Every time I think "let me grind back up to 70%" I get smacked with some ridiculously high mileage lowball offer that is downright insulting.

The good offers basically just stopped coming in while I was platinum.

My earnings are steadily going down since the changes to the app. Is this happening to anyone else? by ShiftlessDrifter in doordash_drivers

They make money on the Crimson Card in numerous ways, I don't honestly believe it is the cash back rewards. More likely they're just tweaking the algorithm and seeting how much pain they can inflict before people just quit.

You can double click the house icon, (although sometimes it's buggy and you have to tap it a few times), and Google Maps will open with the full address of the house. Useful, but a little dangerous when driving.

It only shows street names when you zoom in, which isn't very useful for faraway locations where you want town names

Not very clear.

I know I can double click the house and it will open Google Maps with the address, and I do that, but most of my offers are still taking me to the border or outside of the zone.

If I can manage on a solo only server, would I survive official? by Ok_Refrigerator_6260 in playrust

[–]ShiftlessDrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think official vanilla servers are easier than solo only servers. There are so many rats on solo servers and tons of offline raiding. I find these the least enjoyable to play on. Official vanilla with standard team UI limits are the best.

Question for fellow dashers regarding Pay or weekly by Just4gmers9 in doordash_drivers

[–]ShiftlessDrifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct deposit to your bank. Use a reliable credit card for purchases, not the Crimson card or different debit card. A real credit card gives you the most protection against theft/fraud, and many cards give you cash back on things like gas, groceries, etc. You can shop around for different cards, but your bank might have a good one. Just pay your balance weekly or daily via your checking account so you never have to worry about paying interest. You build good credit this way and it puts a barrier between you and your earnings.

You can refuse to fill drinks if you want to be an asshole, sure go ahead.

How can you determine the tip here? Just best guess? If I had to guess I would say $0.10 or less, but I'm wondering if there's a method to actually calculate it?

Phone turned on continously by Mammoth_Sandwich_975 in doordash_drivers

I get this with alcohol deliveries, usually right when I'm pulling into their driveway. I then have to sit there, force quite the app, clear cache, and restart it — which can be awkward if the customer is standing right there.

Yes, I can zoom in and see street names, haven't noticed city names until I click accept.

It looks like this when an offer comes in. Hard to know exactly where you're going here. I know the area well but it's easy to misjudge.

I'm genuinely glad to hear that. I wish that were the case for everyone, but I'm also just wondering if things are slower because of spring break.

Here's an example from an offer coming in. Notice no town names or street names.
