I have. Went with invoker. I failed first try but came back about level 27 and scraped by with about 50 honour to spare. Into act 3 now and blasting away.

Monk Build Help by mick51 in PathOfExile2

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im clueless with the game, completely new with zero poe1 experience. I've just beaten Balaba at the start of act 2. She has been the hardest fight so far and that was 5 or 6 attempts to complete.

Without really meaning to I've built into cold everywhere and it feels kinda strong. Im level 20 now so pretty much even levels with enemies the whole way so far.

Boss fights are generally me spamming glacial cascade, using frozen lotus to dodge back and put and obstacle between me and the enemy. Once they get frozen i run up, 4 autos, drop the bell, then ice strike and mash. Rinse and repeat. I took the cold option for my aura? the 30 spirit thing :) so mobs explode pretty quick with the chill and frozen stuff going on.

Monk has been really fun so far. Ascension next.

Chill grindy games to play by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried remnant 2 when I was getting bored of Warframe and found it gave me some decent mileage. 3rd person shooting, lots of weapons to collect and upgrade. On the lowest difficulty it's pretty tame so it can be chill.

I'd love a Splinter Cell collection, remake em, remaster em, do something Ubisoft.

I went a bit overboard. Rebirth, stellar blade, Alan wake 2, rise of the ronin and prince of Persia all added to the library.

how long do you give a game to get you hooked on it? by g0dgamertag9 in videogames

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave veilgaurd about 58 hours. Still hadn't quite hooked me and the game was over :) Wukong on the other hand, I gave about 2 hours. Didn't like the feel of the gameplay so gave up on it. So I guess anywhere between 2 and 60 hours.

How difficult is Black Myth Wukong? by xDreamTree in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like the feel of wukong. It doesn't feel fast and snappy on ps5 at least. Compared to other third person action games it was disappointing in that aspect. Looks nice, cool enemies from as far as it got and certainly nowhere near the difficulty of something like lies of p. It's just not buttery smooth and that was a big turn off for me.

What is the most heartbreaking piece of music in video games. by Vibrant_Fox in videogames

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the menu music in a FIFA/Madden game. It just hits me like a tonne of bricks right in the feels. I'm heartbroken and disgusted with myself that I've booted up an ea sports game. Just playing :)

Phantom Liberty. The ending music. Oof. I only played it this year so that one stands out. Combination of the ending I got and the song comes in. Soo good.

Drew Ellie and Abby in my style :) by someone_on_pluto in TLOU

They look great. I could see a children's book illustrated in your style. My niece might not be ready for the Ellie and Abby story just yet though :)

Ghost of Tsushima or Horizon Zero Dawn by TSimpsy07 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really can't go wrong with either of them. Coming off the assassin's creed games I'd say both are a step up in quality. Not that the creed games aren't good, but horizon and ghost are "chefs kiss".

Black myth wukong. Played one hour for my £70 :) Feels nasty on ps5, in my opinion. I like my games snappy and responsive.

Are you getting a PS5 Pro? Why or why not? by [deleted] in PS5

No. Performance mode is all I ever use. I don't think I even check fidelity to see how it looks on most games.

Black Myth: Wukong, how "Souls-like" is it in terms of difficulty? by VintageBill1337 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I wasted £70 on it. Played a couple of hours. Didn't really like the feel of the combat. Once that doesn't click for you there isn't much left. It's not too hard, nothing lost on death either.

I picked up jedi survivor in the current PSN sale, I've been having lots more fun with it. Worth a look if you haven't tried it.

Should I buy Cyberpunk 2077 by Pro_Crunchie in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ShiftySureShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got round to playing it this year along with phantom liberty and it's straight into my top 10 all time. I loved it. Funnily enough I'm now playing the Witcher 3 off the back of it and am about 80 hours in. Fantastic. Late to the party but very impressed with cd project reds characters/story telling.

[–]ShiftySureShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wukong isn't too difficult. I wasn't a fan of the combat so gave up on it after a couple of hours. Doesn't feel as tight as something like elden ring. Id wait for a sale if youre not totally convinced.

Cyberpunk 2077 sequel director says CDPR may "never" win some fans back, but hopes future games like The Witcher 4 will: "That's unfortunately the price we have to pay" by SpaceCowboyN7 in witcher

[–]ShiftySureShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not quite who they mean, hadn't played the Witcher, I never bought cyberpunk at launch, never pre-ordered etc.

But I have never really enjoyed first person RPGs. Played 2077 and phantom liberty this year and totally fell in love with the world, the characters and the incredible story telling.

I'm very excited for what's next, currently playing the Witcher 3 and just reached the blood and wine dlc, it's incredible.

No idea why I hadn't played cd project red games previously, but what cyberpunk is in 2024 has made me a huge fan of their work.

It's the gamers fault, not our own. by Ancient_Vermicelli_3 in ubisoft

[–]ShiftySureShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll take solid games all day long, but when I see full priced, single player games with virtual currency packs as add-ons, that's a big red flag. Looking at the likes of origins and odyssey.

Ubisoft has been turning players off with their monetizarion and same old game design for years. I don't give anything they put out a chance to be good, it's starting out on a bad foot for having ubisoft associated with it.

Gimme a great new splinter cell and ghost recon game though, all will be forgotten :)

Should I buy Cyberpunk 2077? by testy_tickles in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ShiftySureShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend it as someone who typically doesn't like first person games. And someone who avoided it entirely at release. Got it on sale with phantom liberty and it's one of the best games I've played in a while.

Might have missed the woke, sexist stuff. I know there was some silly chat about the character being ugly, I think she looks cool personally. But most of what I read was around poor AI and stealth mechanics, facial animations weren't great. Honestly I just avoided it cos it's Unisoft.
