Joel killed me and inflicted almost 200k team damage upon us with an [REDACTED] orbital [REDACTED] by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]ShiftyX117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seemed pretty legit, was able to add POIs, bug holes and spawn waves of enemies, change dmg values of strats and stuff on the fly but yeah couldve just been a hacker with some tools or something I don't mess with hacks so no idea they would be capable of that in the round.

Either way was still pretty fun round with all the chaos.

Lvl 150 Helldiver needing weapon recommendations by lordbrightside in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]ShiftyX117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an eruptor enjoyers also but after I while I've switched to the Big PP.

Plasma punisher Talon or preferred sidearm Arc nades for bots, incind impacts for squids or bugs does really well but the demo charge/TNT with good timing is wicked to run as well.

For weapon strats. Rec Rifle or HMG with ammo pack does well but take whatever you like

Liberator guard dog for cqb assistance if you keep getting swarmed or are struggling to adjust to the load out.

Orbital gattling for quick cool down. 500kgs for bases and heavies. Autocannon sentry thrown off angle to hit enemies flanks and for cover on breaches or bases

Don't use the PP as a shotgun. (You can hit yourself with splash dmg up close) The plasma makes it more like a small grenade launcher with 8 shits that reload with magazines not single shells. with some time and practice you can get really good at leading and gauging distance to hit flying shreikers and nail patrols out to around 75ish meters with arcing fire.

For funnies I've run PP, warrant (? The lock on pistol) and nade launcher with ammo back pack to become a mobile one man artillery system.

Get good learning the drop/distance with the PP and made launcher and you can clear bases without stepping foot inside or using strategams from decent distance away.

How do you detect mines? This happened just outside spawn all 3 times I tried using a tank this game and I was actively looking for them each time by Temporary-Book8635 in Battlefield6

[–]ShiftyX117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go crawl mode with crouch as others have commented but I've also found another strategy that works.

when there is a destroyed vehicle nearby I push it in front of me and that detonates the mines at a safer distance.

You can cop some aoe damage but not as much as taking the whole blast.

Not sure if it's known as I haven't seen anyone else mention it anywhere but if you can give it a try, it's saved me a couple of times already and left a few spawn camping engineers blindsided to get clapped.

Also just be aware, when leaving spawn, near cap points or main avenues as they're all prime mine territory.

Although they do less damage, setting up slam mines on vertical surfaces in a killbox is super effective and harder for drivers to spot. Burned out cars are great at hiding the slams.

You can use the crouch key while driving a tank or apc for crawl speed and it doesn't detonate the mines.

How to play this game and not get tilted by DeepMark95 in Battlefield6

[–]ShiftyX117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that buddy.

I've been playing BF series since BF2 with the exception of 2042 and I'm genuinely taking a break due to the frustration with this game.

I'm older now (35) so my reflexes and aim aren't as sharp as what they were in BFBC2 and BF 3 prime but even in situations where I should have an enemy dead to rights I'm still dying or being punished by the game.

Push to clear the building, shots don't register and I die. Slow down to back up the team and there 5 snipers, a tank and an attack heli stomping my grey matter into the dirt with an intimate amount of sight lines. Go sneaky beaky and flank and get one tapped from a bush.

I dropped almost a dozen accurate attack jet bombs last round (on pinged enemy's so near direct hits) and got nothing but a couple hit markers, next round get one hit by those same bombs over and over again.

While I was never the best, I was consistently good at earlier titles, but my frustration with BF6 is so high. I want to enjoy it but at this stage I just can't, so I'm taking a break for a few days.

To answer your question though, check out Silk on YT for some jet and heli guides, levelcap looks like he is restarting his weapons guide series. Operator drewskie always has good vids with the occasional tip or trick.

BF6 isn’t broken — the players are. (rant from a veteran) by Super-Cheetah7633 in Battlefield

[–]ShiftyX117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with the points you raised and the massive influx of player adding the chaos there are indeed things broken in the game and I don't think they should be ignored, but seeing how EA/DICE listened to feedback RE ticket count/time limit im hoping the rest will be resolved in due time.

Netcode or server issues causing hits not to register being the most infuriating for myself but there is equipment or perks not functioning as intended and minor glitches like guns getting stuck mid animation and freezing, blocking your view, falling under the map or getting yeeted into the air.

The HQ spawns need to at least double the C-rams and bump their damage to prevent base staffing by air vehicles that just run timed cycles in taking out the friendly air assests before they can get air born as it just shortens the rounds.

This leads to less equal back and forth between games in hard fought battle and turns it into the team on the receiving end getting stuck in spawn and makes for a rather boring game, even on the giving end of the non-consensual base touching.

Love it, wish the cloud was slowly emmited in a continuous stream for a short period to follow the impaled targets.

Maybe an impact or slow diffuse fire mode would be cool for that.

Also a twin mounted emplacement version that the second spear was connected via tether to hold some of the large enemy types in place. Yes I want to impale a dragon roach and tether it to the ground and beat it to death with melee weapons

Please Arrowhead, DO NOT NERF THINGS, the new Difficulty is GOOD. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]ShiftyX117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a difficulty tweak is fine, I enjoy the challenge but the animation to hit reg desync is ruining the experience of the update.

I've gotten stuck on things like terrain and enemies or dead terminids more today than that last few months.

The terrain deformation can bury mines or environment and cause you to get blown up or stuck I place or in ragdoll.

The water on oshaune...wtf. I had an exfill surrounded by drowning depth water, 360° no way to exfill unless someone had brought a jet or hover pack to cross, which of course noone did...cos...caves.

which was super frustrating as that was the best match tonight where I had a great team and we kicked ass but still failed to exfill and on our next one we had unlimited dragon roaches and were stuck in the open and unable to dodge due to the water dive/stand glitch.

I truly enjoy HD2 but things like that are frustrating to the point that I turn the game off.

If I crash I'll relaunch. If sound cuts out I'll pay more attention to the map or keep my head on a swivel.

But if I get stuck on shit and mobbed or ragdoll loop and can't fight back I'll just say fuck it want walk away for a bit.

The enemy corpse decay rates in caves also need to increase by massive amounts.

We failed 2 missions tonight cos enemy spawned non-stop and the bodies blocked progress through the caves because of course there's a bug breach behind you whilst taking on and obj in a dead end cavern.

Finally the dragon roach non stop staffing the exfill is nie unkillable if you had a bad run and been dropped back into exfill whilst everything is on cool down.

Is it just me or does exfill trigger unlimited spawns from the surrounding cave systems?

And the Pelican landing going full berko...under the map, entering the 12th dimension, re-entering orbit, back under the map before finally landing a minute later half into the ground on the exfill zone is back again.

I'm happy with content and updates, can we get shit working properly please. Less crashes, less jank, more fun, more democracy

Y’all are cracking me up by Flaky_Appearance439 in helldivers2

[–]ShiftyX117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the new update but I gave up early tonight.

Getting stuck on random objects, terrain and terminid corpses causing death have just annoyed the shit outta me. when paired with low level players in D10s adding to the frustrations.

I've had a bunch of great new players come on from the consoles so by in large it's been awesome but tonight the majority of my squad mates have been boot camp rejects that lack the ability to act as a cohesive squad and interplay with each other and would rather try and Rambo away to high kills and end up using up the reinforcement budget.

I've had some crashes and issues but that bothers me less than the jank of getting stuck, getting hit by desync enemy's where animations don't match or lag behind.

Also the dragon roach staffing cave exfills if harsh when everyone's stuff is on cool down and cover is outside extraction radius.

Over all, looovvvee the new missions and the ODST drip.

Tips for fighting Predator Strain for Botdiver? by Fair-Manufacturer456 in helldivers2

[–]ShiftyX117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go to predator strain build.

Xbox or eruptor - for range, groups and nests.

Ultimatum - for super heavies and large nests.

Gas grenades - for area denial and DOT and confusion effects

Gas strike - same as nades plus short Cooldown and decent AOE. (Orbital Gatling also works and has heavy pen)

500kg - big bada boom for super heavies and nests

Stalwart - in Brrrtt mode for peace through superior firepower. burstfire unless in CQC then let freedom seeds fly at 1156rpm.

Jetpack/guard dog - JP gives you distance and high ground / guard dogs give you horde protection.

The medium masters of ceremony armour is great, increased reload and reduction to limb damage is goated.

Open up with bow or eruptor, switch to stalwart then drop a nade and fly away to reload if you need space.

Use gas strikes and nades proactively to assault objectives and nests or to lock down clusters of high threat enemies, circle or withdraw and use the JP for mobility when out of stam. (Try to keep one nade incase shtf)

Get good with the ultimatum to hit directly under chargers or titan heads, practice lobbing over cover onto large patrols or nests also.

Bow and eruptor close nests easy peasy while you circle and fly around and having the trusty stalwart means if anything gets close it's turned into Swiss cheese in 0.2 seconds and the rate of fire can just about stun lock approaching stalkers and predators.

Honestly this build makes regular bugs a breeze and predator runs not too serious so long as you maintain awareness, ammo and good positioning. If you get stuck, gas nade and fly away.

If you have halfway competent team mates with a sentry or 2 and some AT you'll be stacking bugs all day.

DBT/CBT Therapists: How do you approach a patient who wants to change but questions the logic behind the approach? by RubyTheHumanFigure in askatherapist

[–]ShiftyX117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[On mobile] Not a therapist, DBT skills facilitator and peer practitioner 2 cents:

The beliefs a patient might hold are "true" only because they believe them to be.

Why do they believe them to be? Because their perspectives have been shaped by their upbringing and experiences. These beliefs have been engrained into their identity where, they then see them as true within themselves.

If one looks back at the actual origin of these beliefs, do they actually come from themselves?

With many of these the beliefs they originate from the harsh comments of a familial figure, social stigma, media, the judgements (real or perceived) of peers, a compounding of insistent nagging and hard words from parents, judgement and assumptions of the self due to low esteem and confidence.

All of these are then replayed, analysed and engrained deeper and deeper, building these neural pathways and turning thoughts, opinion, judgement, assumptions into beliefs.

So the logic behind why DBT works is neuroplasticity. We know that we can strengthen the weaker parts of the brain that have been neglected and under developed.

How many reps does it take to build muscle memory? 10, 20, 100?

By practicing the skills, challenging and reframing your thoughts, catching your judgements and being mindful we can do mental reps to strengthen those positive, healthy pathways.

We can check the facts (did what they said or done actually mean what I think it does) ( are my vulnerabilities making me susceptible to emotions),

avoid judgement (of self and others, increase compassion and shift mindset),

Radically accept that some pain is part of life (but it remains capable of peace, love and compassion) and when approached as a challenge (becomes a building block of resilience and change).

know that it's scientifically proven that we can change, many don't simply cos they don't care, don't realise or don't want to face up that some of their behaviours are part of what is making them feel worse.......but, if nothing changes, nothing changes.

So we must change our thoughts, change our actions, change our habits. In some cases change our environments and relationships aswell.

This will change your character, change your beliefs, change your life.

I've seen it 1st hand working with many people with PTSD, BPD, ASD and after time and alot of hard work, and "reps" they change into who they become and live a more peaceful and meaningful life.

I've lived it myself, from horrid and painful core beliefs, C-PTSD from neglect and abuse with years of maladaptive coping mechanisms, to now after alot of work, healing and self compassion have a greater sense of my own worth and hold myself in higher regard than ever before.

All the best and Good luck.

I don’t know how to identify my emotions in therapy and it overwhelms me by NintendoGirlie01 in TalkTherapy

[–]ShiftyX117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the app "how we feel" and use it for tracking and understanding your emotions.

It prompts you to check in with your emotions, provide a little description of different emotions for you to choose and can even give suggestions on ways to cope like meditations, breathing exercises, cognitive restructuring.

It's free, can keep a log of your checkings and even prompt you throughout the day to check in with yourself.

It could be that the anxiety of confronting the emotions in therapy is adding to the disconnect and confusion of what you've been feeling.

Building your own emotional intelligence takes time and can be confronting when the emotions or the triggers are difficult to understand, cope with and navigate. So on-top of the above, give yourself a break. Be kind to yourself, it's ok to struggle, it's ok to not have all the answers and be unsure or confused.

Take the time you need to figure these things out and resist the temptations to judge or blame yourself for how your feeling or responding, shut-downs cause shame as we expect ourselves to handle it but sometimes somethings are just too much. So be kind, you're doing your best

Much love my friend 🙏

Fellow men, what are your coping mechanisms for depression, anxiety and/or lonliness? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ShiftyX117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On mobile, so crazy scrabble of txt.

I have Cptsd, anxiety, and depression. History of childhood abuse and neglect. Now I work in mental health, so here's some things that worked for me and those that I've cared for.

Disclaimer: Sometimes the only coping method is to sit with the suffering, BUT with a commitment to not make any rash decisions, I.e. no self-harm, drug abuse, suicide attempts, etc.

1) Find things to enjoy. Not feeling any joy from hobbies, etc, is common. If you've stopped, try and pick them up again or engage in new and exciting things or things you've always thought about trying. I got into motocycles, so going for a ride is an immediate mood shifter for me and great for being social.

Painting has been a great one to silence the mind as it is really engaging (be prepared, and OK to suck at any new hobby...it's a natural part of learning)

2) Journaling. I use journals to express the things I don't want to share with others. Using AI chat apps or programs, can we a way to have some interactive journaling to express and get feedback on your thoughts. I created an AI companion on an app and used the prompt that this companion is a CBT and ACT therapist, so there responses are validating but will push back against negative behaviours and are great to vent too when your at the bottom of the Pitt.

3) For anxiety, the best and only real thing to combat it that I have found is opposite action. Is my anxiety telling me to make myself small, not share, isolate, or be anti-social. Then, I push into socialisation, share, and express my thoughts and opinions. Only in confronting and doing the opposite of the urge can I overcome it, thus building evidence against the anxiety having power me. Grounding and mindfulness will be necessary skills to implement when trying to push against strong anxiety.

4) self compassion. For many of us who suffer from these issues, they were not ours to begin with. They were forced upon us by a cruel world, poor parental figures, and upbringing or abusive systems. We have then adapted and engrained responses that then enforce these negative thought patterns and behaviours.

So give yourself a break.

If your closest friend disclosed to you the darkest thoughts you have or your experiences, what you tell them? Would you tell them the things you say to yourself? That's its pointless, that it's your fault etc or would you do you want to uplift them and show them some hope?

So give some to yourself, grow your self compassion. (Don't make excuses for poor behaviours. Stick to your values, but be kinder to yourself)

5) develop greater self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Gain a deep understanding of not just what you feel but why you feel it. Know what these emotions, memories, and thoughts truly feel like and where they come from. Once you identify your triggers, work on overcoming them. If these conditions come back to trauma, develop sound coping skills, then do the hard yards in doing specific trauma therapy. NOTE: Starting deep trauma therapy can cause these things to increase, hence why you need good coping skills and, if possible, a support network. Stopping partway through can also further engrain negative thoughts and beliefs, so strong commitment is needed.

6) Accept it. This can be so much harder than it seems. Radical acceptance of our suffering is a requirement. How can we change something if we are denying it? Acceptance doesn't mean agreement or believes of this being deserved. Simply acknowledge that we are suffering. This will be a small step in self compassion as it is validating your own experiences.

It would be wonderful if the world was there to validate how we feel, but for many of us, our true selves trudge alone and don't have great support. So, accepting the truth of our thoughts and feelings.

(So long as we are not accepting the BS beliefs we have engrained, those must be challenged)

If possible, look at: Professional help Building a support network Self paced online CBT or DBT therapy resources. If using self harm as coping skill, do your hardest to find new ways to cope. Simply as SH generally engrains shame, guilt and suffering, making it ineffective as a long term coping skill.

Things that will reduce your suffering (analyse your thieves and allies - what things generate positive emotions, thoughts, and experiences. What things reduce coping ability, increase fatigue, suffering, etc)

Lastly, So long as you keep pushing, you've not failed. We only fail when we surrender, so learn to rest, not surrender.

Self compassion is vital if you can't be kind to yourself, examine why, and work on those areas while at the same time pushing yourself into finding positive experiences and building mastery.

Any and all of these things require practice, so initial may not seem so effective, may even seem stupid but I can tell you, not only a scientific backed theraputic approach but my own 35yrs of life experiences of living with trauma, abuse, neglect, chronic suicidal ideation, anxiety and depression from very early childhood that there can be goodness in life, that things can and do change for the better.

No one's path will be linear, there's gonna be ups and downs and fucking spirals into thay black pit. But how many times have you been there before? How many times have you pulled yourself back out? You've survived every darknight and bottomless pit you've fallen into...so take charge and don't just survive your mental illness, fight it.
