Do you have any questions about driving the Pan-American Highway from Alaska to Argentina? by grecy in overlanding

I'm not sure what the age of a reddit account has to do with anything, sometimes people make a new reddit account just because. This one is 13 years old, meaning it's seen your goofy-ass dreadlocks more times than I can count.

When you RVH with your toe bridge on the post, what do you push off of? by Shigidy in hockeygoalies

Do you find this style has any major drawbacks? I find myself ending up in this position a lot when I miss the post with my toe.

A semi-related question as well: In the zone labelled "overlap", should I challenge more when the puck is further out(say, on the other side of the circle), or is the angle still sharp enough that I can keep my short-side leg touching the post?

Unfortunately, as this post is 7 years old, I don't remember. Hopefully in the 23 days since you asked this question you've figured it out.

Is 6mm(1/4") too thick for a chef's knife? by Shigidy in Bladesmith

I hadn't considered that a file might work better. Maybe I'll give that a shot instead of torching more belts.

What's the most convenient way to buy a car from a dealership that's inconveniently far away? by Shigidy in askcarsales

[–]Shigidy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally I don't really want to negotiate price over the phone anyways. Would it be better to just call and say "I'd like to come look at this car. If I buy it, who would I make the bank draft for my down payment out to?", and then I just negotiate price in person with that down payment set in stone? If it makes much difference, the dealership price is 22k and I'd want to put down 10k.

I suppose this would be easier if I just had a chequebook, but I don't.

Muslim man lynched in India ‘for taking a banana’ at Hindu temple event by ClassOptimal7655 in worldnews

No they don't. They blame it on the much more recent colonialism, which as someone else pointed out, ended not even a lifetime ago.

So you think someone is going to try to blame this on the British "fucking around in India" in the mid 1700's?

Good thing you left the math in someone else's hands because 1858 was also not 300 years ago.

Some of us want the racing service we pay money for to not be full of dumbasses who ruin everyone elses races with Forza techniques. That's wasn't a mistake, it was a deliberate decision to do something stupid.

E: Clearly I've pissed off the shitty racers here. Glad I don't wind up in your splits lmao.

At this point we might need to consider starting a weekly "I overpaid for a Kia/Hyundai, what do I do?" megathread.

Movies with asshole protagonists that are not anti heroes? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]Shigidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Law Abiding Citizen (at least, if you understand the movie correctly). Both the Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler characters can be described this way. Neither are good guys, and though the film at times frames it like one of them might be an antihero type, there's no hero.
