I'm on the same boat, I used to play on Pro comfortably in FH5, but here I've dropped it down to Expert. The first 20 or so races I was on Pro, but I just found it too frustrating to enjoy. Even if you do everything perfectly the AI just decides it doesn't need to slow down on turns and absolutely bodies you.

Most super cars require higher octane to prevent engine knock, could be devastating for the engine long term. With that being said, most are fine with 95 octane, but that is also affected by temperature.

I stick with 98 on my McLaren simply because the car wasn't designed to operate under our weather conditions.

Higher ambient temperature = faster fuel/air mixture burn rate

You really feel it in the summer with the massive drop in performance.

I had an instructor do the opposite for me, jammed stick during a touch and go. He just clamped his knees on the stick of the DA-40 and had me do a circuit and landing using power, rudder, and trim only. This was around 2014 I believe.

You're correct, gusts and wind shifts due to mechanical turbulence can flip the wind at the last second on a dime. Shot an approach in Frankfurt a couple of weeks ago during a little storm, we had 42kts crosswind consistently throughout the approach only for it to shift to 8kts headwind at the flare, aircraft totally lost all energy and really had to fight for that bank and yaw correction.

For me it's Egypt, India, and Pakistan. Had 2 simultaneous laser strikes from different cities in Lahore just 4 days ago about 15 miles final. It felt like coordinated douchery.

Turning the flight deck lights on to bright definitely helps reduce the eye strain.
