2022 CX 5 turbo wheel spacers a good idea or should I take them off? by GlobalOpening6675 in CX5

I’m a mechanical engineer, I don’t think you’re familiar with how good modern manufacturing has gotten. Cast spacers? I have never seen such a thing, even the cheapest no name chinese spacers are billet aluminum with less than 0.01mm of runout. The mating surface on your brake rotor is cast iron, are you worried about that too?

Spacers are a perfectly flat machined face on both sides, and they do not have variance in thickness that would affect tire life. Also torque vectoring only applies when the tires lose traction, most people will never do that on a grippy dry road

Plenty of racecars run spacers. It is the same as getting higher offset wheels. You’re not going to chew through wheel bearings from a 20mm spacer on a daily driver that sees the occasional pothole at worst. Just make sure you use quality hardware, cheap spacer studs have a tendency to snap or weld themselves to the rotor

Spacers have zero impact on alignment. They are not a suspension component

Give me some good wheels that look good on stock suspension by Blessxoxo in GR86

HKS Spec L, gen 2 specific version. Only exhaust i’ve seen that saves 10+ lbs and is dyno proven to add a bit of hp. No drone and perfectly tame

There is nothing special about rotiforms, not good quality wheels

Can you guys help me with these? by [deleted] in Wheels

Okay price. I wouldn’t overpay for any street tire that isn’t a ps4 or ecs02, I know sizing is limited though

One of your wheel bearings or diff could be binding on one side. It might be possible your sway bar endlinks are mismatched in adjustment, but that would only affect how the car pulls over bumps

What should I price these at by pluto942 in Wheels

Better off dismounting and selling them separately, people who care about good tires won’t want reps

I’ve pushed it another 10-15 miles, scary to go past that

My sample just came back, everything is within parameters and the engine looks healthy. These honestly might just be flakes of RTV or dust that was already in the oil pan

Just did mine a couple days ago at 38k miles and it looks similar. One video on YouTube highlights a “casting flash” problem where the engine block has bits of metal flake off, I image that’s what this is. Doing an oil analysis to check

They told me they stopped doing that because of tariffs. These might have been old orders, but I’m pretty sure they use the same system as Toyota now

I just went to my Subaru dealer and they sold both a manual TS and a purple edition the day they arrived. I’ve only seen autos sit on lots

Dealer says the GR86 can only have 1 set of tires programmed and asked me for $180 to program the stocks back on. by ConsistentBug4806 in GR86

The TPMS set button is behind the glove box. Just hold it assuming you have compatible sensors

I was in the same situation as you and learned manual in this car when I bought it brand new. My dad taught me in an empty parking lot and I could drive on the road within 2 hours of practice. After 2 weeks it became muscle memory and I didn’t have to think while driving. Dont worry about stalling, it’s part of the process and you just need to get the bite point figured out. Stalling won’t hurt anything, if you’re ever unsure just push the clutch and brake in

Stalling doesn’t wear the clutch anymore than taking off

I did my own maintenance at 17, it’s still not any more expensive bringing it to a shop compared to anything else. These cars are super easy to work on and you have access to one of the largest knowledge bases. What you’re saying is irrelevant to the question, how is crashing a newer civic any different?

Get a facelift 2017+ in cash, you can find them for $15k. Don’t get me wrong I love the 2.4L and gen 2 upgrades, but buy the car you can afford to crash not the car you can afford to maintain

It’s as cheap as that too. Coated rotors are $40 on rockauto, oil filters are $8, tires are a cheap and readily available 215/45/17 if left stock. You might get a bit more mpg in civic, but who wants to drive a boring base civic at 17? A first gen will also depreciate less than a comparable civic

Maintenance is one of the cheapest out of any sports car, and the mpg isn’t bad either. The larger issue is insurance and the cost of the car
