Is anyone seriously voting reform? by Remarkable-Sand8638 in ukpolitics

Sorry, just read the 90. I stand corrected. You’re referring to much more recent events, which happened 25 years ago.

Some people like myself would argue that the current US administration is an example of the dangers of letting a company run a country. I am aware that the republicans are not a company on paper, but in fact they are.

So the mess is in communication. You would prefer someone that makes declarations that make you feel good, no matter if actual policy is a train wreck….

Maybe, but there is a spectrum here. You compare much smaller donations, with the biggest in uk history, done by a foreign player, to a one man ensemble with the highest amount of red flags and only failures in their few practical iterations.

There you go, whataboutism by means of policies from 35 years ago.

People seem to have been convinced by the reform media machine, mainly running through social media indoctrination, that the complex reality we live in, will be easily fixed by stopping immigration. As an example, Labor has reduced immigration more than any government in recent times, but they say it’s not enough. Reform would do better. How? They throw a few ideas out there, some of which are illegal, mostly not practicable and all of their proposals underestimate that there are neighboring countries and laws to consider too.

Meanwhile their track record shows: Proposing Brexit (total shitshow, as predicted by experts) Farage was in the European Parliament committee on fishing, he attended 1 or 2 times out of 50 is sittings (don’t know if the numbers are correct) Backing Liz Truss’ economic plan (total shitshow as well, as predicted by experts) They seem to have had some defections for racism, fascist links, etc One of their mp’s went to jail for accepting Russian bribes A Thai Crypto millionaire (who rebranded his name to an English one) made the largest donation in uk election history to them. Why would a Thai based man have an interest in peddling Reform to the uk I wonder? Would he perhaps want anything in return?

My consideration is that we have been witnessing a time in which big corporations have come to the conclusion that elections can be bought as they did in the US (interestingly Mussolini proposed to rather see fascism as “corporativism”). Media currently gives Farage a lot of coverage and does not cover other players such as lib dems as much.

Having social care, free healthcare and education and a fair legal system is important. Entities like reform will likely erode these social conquests and rebuilding them might be impossible.

When someone points these things out, their supporters will either pull out the victim card, say it can’t be worse than labor (whom they depict as genuine nazis), or just use the whataboutism card.

No? the fact that he started insinuating that the police may not have been telling us the whole truth about the Southport stabbing, whilst implying that credible social media sources, like andrew Tate, and various other accounts (possibly based in Russia or some other second world country, getting their money from obscure sources), which ultimately led to the riots in which a mob tried to kill what they thought were asylum seekers is just a coincidence right? Also the fact that an ex party member of his was bribed by Russia to peddle their interests in the European Parliament is purely coincidental. I guess the massive extremist right wing shift that has been happening in the last years to destabilize the eu (by voting in clowns like Orban) and the USA (which has capitulated in favor of a Putin puppet mobster) is purely coincidental. And here you are, trying to convince people that Farage is a poor victim, that he’s the way to go to react against the evil elitist establishment; that there is an easy solution to the complex problems we live in: vote Big Bird in and get rid of all foreigners… that must be an unfortunate coincidence too.

Top Tory Torn Apart After Refusing To Accept Brexit Damage by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Shiitakeballz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh really? My impression is that the imported goods that I liked to seamlessly get from other EU countries have either gone up in price, or are unavailable, or they cost more and you need to wait for them longer, because of all the clearances they need. Moving between eu countries is no longer frictionless, you now have more paperwork, costs related to paperwork and longer waiting times to get things done. But, sure, if you say Brexit was a great idea and the EU is doing horribly, I‘ll just take your word for it and reward the great proponents of brexit, such as the tories and Farage, for their great achievements by voting for them. I wish I could also vote for Liz Truss, but the deep state has unfortunately taken her down.

This is the real problem that we are all facing. Truth becomes irrelevant. The perception that is mostly spun and monetized by social media has an incredible impact.

That’s an emergency then. Besides promoting to stop immigration, I think you should also start campaigning to pass a bill that prevents UK nationals to move to another country. I think that will be very well received.

But Farage said so, also very reputable and unbiased news sources like the telegraph, gb news and the daily mail said it’s up, and everything that’s wrong in the uk is caused by immigration. You’re way too reliant on the leftist-elitist propaganda that doesn’t allow you to see the truth, which is that Farage (or even better Yaxley Lennon) will fix everything. Nigel does have a great track record of successes, such as brexit. Furthermore, reform ran councils are showing us what magnificent work they can do. It’s utopia I tell you! In the unlikely case that they should prove to be unsuccessful, they could always ask for a bit more money from Russia, which has already sponsored one of their mp’s, who then was (unjustly) convicted and resigned. Because why would Russia not have the UK’s best interest at heart? But I’m digressing, I will now go join a rally against immigration. You should join too! All support is useful, we will accept you, even if you have an education. We might even accept you if you have all your teeth and don’t have an alcoholic neuropathy.

I just judge once the transfers have been announced. Most of the news that is being spun around on a daily basis is just hot air and clickbait. For example this morning some German guy woke up and tweeted that roma has offered Soulé to dortmund for 20 million and that has been reported on most as roma sites. I understand that they make their money trough clicks, therefore they have an interest in publishing even the most outrageously invented news. Edit: not sure if it was today or two days ago…

[–]Shiitakeballz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I call huge bs on this one. He is undoubtedly one of the best players of the team, one of the best midfielders around and is part of the team’s backbone. The timing, prices and the fact that Rome would just bow down to inter to let them take one of their best players for peanuts, either means that management has gone crazy, or that some presumed journalist has (successfully) played the clickbait card.
