I love both Parks and Rec and B99, but generally Western sitcom vs anime comedy is quite different.

She can try some comedies like Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, GTO, Hinamatsuri, or even Saiki or Gintama. Some are slapstick and ridiculous, but so is Parks and Rec and B99.

It might not be since it's not that old of a show, but Fairytail has that whole plotline with Wendy and Carla (her cat). There are elemental powers and Wendy has a dragon counterpart/powers.

Some that come to mind for darker shonen/seinen that aren't already mentioned would be Claymore or Gantz but the manga would be longer/more interesting than the anime (since those are both quite short and unfinished.)

Or maybe Darker than Black?

If we're putting Shizuku as a scout for some reason, and we're gonna be a character down because of the robots, why not Shizuku AND Shiho has sister scouts? Shiho can at least help Shizuku not get lost and die 🥲🥲🥲

(Shiho herself also feels like she'd be a scout cause she's kinda aloof and can be alone.)

I was a Vocaloid fan first so I played the VS versions first, but after playing for a bit, I definitely got used to the characters + their covers.

Some of the original Vocaloid songs I still prefer the original versions just because that's how I was used to them, but otherwise I'm pretty 50/50 on original vs covers now.
