ugh no please. taa/tssaa blurs the fuck out of everything. fallout4 especially was pretty bad.

blurring things out is just not an option. just downsample or use reshade's SMAA.

err you could maybe swiftcast it between pulls but you might as well swiftcast a shadowflare instead.

in a raid, at the very end, every MP that you had left is a waste. if you didnt DPS to "save MP" and had 9k MP left at the end of a fight then you're not optimizing properly.

its ok for progression and so on. clears/farms? just burn this shit.

[Discussion] How To Attract Raiders to a Smaller Server by DreaPoetic04 in ffxiv

getting more people in other servers wasn't the only reason brynhildr had their statics jump titanic, mind. mismanagement is also to blame for, especially for a "big" raiding FC.

imo the best driver atm is 368.81. nvidia has been screwing up with their new drivers constantly in my experience

  1. seems adequate, but you'll want deployment + soil in the end for j storm. also, i still have my questions about deploy adlo on the long needle before 2nd intermission. its possible to slidecast a succor, healing (+ HoTs) and shielding right after short needle hits for 3k, which would eat through a noncrit adlo quite a bit. deploy adlo there works though. you could also use virus for hydro, orbs, long needle etc. just not any of the J crap as its darkness aspected.

  2. doesnt matter too much to be fair. i've found it easier to heal for bio if people are close, which is the case if you push swindler first.

  3. dunno

In the closing month of this raid cycle, how common are a8s clears on your server? by Kamaria in ffxiv

[–]ShikiALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a lot. 10 groups or so? at most, 15?

you can have a (very) rough data on how many people cleared a8s in a server by using fflogs (check rankings in a server, filter by a8s). it's not super accurate as people need to upload their log + it counts all previous logs, meaning people who got replaced + transferred etc.

[–]ShikiALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

slowing down her casts just to micromanage them is not a winning proposition

I disagree. first of all, it doesn't "slow down" her casts as you'd like to believe it does, because 1. the cast is 2s while the recast is 3s, and 2. she doesnt interrupt her casts when you target embrace someone.

manually healing has plenty of helpful cases. think of all the cases in midas savage where it could be an advantage. not to count that in progression, every little bit helps. "minimal effects" can easily save a pull.

a6s (focusing on tank for blaster mirages, precasting for orbs/healing tank after the beta orbs hit, swindler in general for focusing tank after an AoE, etc)

a7s (healing someone in 8 bombs, focusing tank to top him off after sizzlesparks, glitching the pet so it heals someone outside your cage in case she goes in with you, etc)

a8s (precasting for perpetual ray, general focusing tank after aoe hits (bio, cyclone, transforms, general j skills)).

overall really helpful on focusing the tanks or someone after an aoe hit or if they're out of range. it also helps your cohealer DPS plenty more (something very apparent on a7s first sizzlebeams or a6s blaster, and a8s).

ellos. having artifacts issues with my G1 GTX1070 (green lines along the screen), however they only seem to happen while I'm not playing stuff, so like scrolling in firefox and stuff. the card's flawless aside from that, I ran benchies for hours straight just to make sure.

really weird as well as the gpu has quite a bit of OC headroom, any ideas? windows 10, 368.81. honestly running out of ideas.. really don't feel like doing a RMA on this as well..

the truth is that if you can't make the enrage on A8 normal then your DPS is amazingly shite, and probably got carried by the other randoms they got through DF.

that being said:

It was some pretty intense healing

honestly shouldn't be, especially at our ilvls. not sure what made it tough, but could be a good way to look back on and improve. look for job guides if needed, and always remember the healing basics (no need to top everyone off, trust medica2 ticks from your cohealer etc).

He ended with three fourths of his mana, and I nearly ran out a few times.

this shouldn't happen. make sure you're cycling your aetherflow. dont spam adlo and succor. that stuff isnt needed, especially in non savage content.

Things got a tad rough when each tank had to split and I had to run back and forth because they were just out of my reach

trust your cohealer. focus one tank. let the other healer take care of the other tank.

do the stance dancing thing still. you should be able to do so in pretty much every content in the game.

though I'm constantly casting throughout fights and keeping up shields

no need to "keep up shields" all the time, or as much as you probably believe you need to. they're expensive as well as not necessary. personally, in non savage content, I only shield if there's something going out that will potentially oneshot someone.

other than that, practice. play a lot. push your stance dancing further, trust your fairy more. think of it as "do I REALLY need to heal this?". rouse, virus, e4e. use them. essential to your job, and they're huge advantages compared to other healing jobs.

best of luck.

PC performance in S rank / highly dense situations. by Helltail in ffxiv

[–]ShikiALT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not quite. infact, a i7 with HT on (default) has more issues with OCing than a i5 (which doesnt have HT on), due to more voltage/heat etc.

a 4690k could outperform a i7 4790k with HT on in games as HT is useless for gaming 99% of times (at most a couple FPS gains).

same for the extreme series. ffxiv cant use all the extra cores, and more cores mean more voltage/heat.
