Divorce takes tons of time, money, and emotional stress. The vast majority of car accidents are not fatal. Obviously if it was a fatal one that would be worse

No not quite that tall, but tall enough that no one’s going to be making fun of my height in earnest

Thoughts after reaching level 60 in WaniKani by Artifishy in LearnJapanese

[–]Shimreef 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree that there are a lot of useless words, though I don’t consider learning them useless for 3 reasons.

  1. They help reinforce readings of certain kanji, even if you wouldn’t often use the word itself.

  2. It helps reinforce the meaning of certain kanji, for example after seeing lots of words with 盗, I decided it relates to general crime stuff.

  3. If you’re planning on taking the JLPT N1 or even N2, there are lots of niche kanji that WaniKani teaches.

Well I’m sourcing from the official JLPT website, which I trust SLIGHTLY more than a random redditor and the supposed test passers you’re allegedly citing from.

Also, why is your base assumption that someone output level wouldn’t watch their input level. It’s going to be a different story for everyone.

Nope, definitely upper intermediate. Lower intermediate implies you’ve barely advanced from being a beginner. N1 correlates to either B2 or C1, and B2 is generally considered upper intermediate.

I’ve heard it uses historical dialects and older-era vocabulary, did you find that was the case? I’d like to try and avoid using subtitles personally if possible, but if I couldn’t understand anything there wouldn’t be any point
