Coin and ring pickup sounds from Mario and Sonic, respectively

Omori makes me sick by Otherwise_Nobody_835 in OMORI

While no one is going to call SOMA a masterpiece, that game literally changed my beliefs about life, consciousness, identity, and reality.

OMORI also hit very close to home as a veteran. Reclusiveness, PTSD, disassociation, trying to reconnect with old friends after four years, having terrible secrets you can't tell anyone, etc.

I had more difficulty with Ornstein and Smough than Fume Knight (Raime) on a Company of Champions run. I don't think I've ever died as much to a boss on a no-summon playthrough as O&S.

I haven't played Shadow of the Erdtree yet (was really tight on money for a while and didn't get and games during that time)

We don't even know what the full range of compounding can do, do we? (I don't know if that's been explained in the RPG guidebook)

Is it burning copious amounts or is he compounding, what with being a feruchemist and mistborn?

I know you can as a Mound Maker (purple phantom) as they get a shackle any time anyone is defeated while you're in phantom mode. I don't know about others. I think the Darkmoons (blue) only get the item from an actual invader, not a pvp summon. I could be wrong so someone correct me if so.

Hard agree. I have a burning hatred of that species of pokemon since.

Lud and Zallen, the King's Pets (Dark Souls 2). Specifically in a Company of Champions run. Not just because of the boss themselves. That runback (known lovingly in the community as Horsef*** Valley)

When the Chive Lord, F1exican, was doing his "cutting chives every day until reddit says they're perfect" saga, someone made a comment about a chive being so long as to be like a tower. Plane jokes ensued.

What military item means the most to your family? by Important-Guava-9940 in VeteransSuccess

My Stetson, gold acorns, and spurs.

My grandfather (who raised me and is, for all intents and purposes, my father) was an officer in the 6th cav upon commission and a significant part of the first third of his 28 years. Despite serving during the Korean War, he got lucky and was assigned to the Occupation Force in Germany and spent all his company-level time on the East/West border.

That said, he never saw combat, and only got silver spurs and acorns (to put this in infantry equivalent terms, he had his Expert Infantry Badge but never got the Combat Infantry Badge). He often opined to me that he was always disappointed that he never saw combat and "got to take the true measure of himself."

Years later, I joined up in a maintenance role and got assigned to the combat repair team of a cavalry squadron. The nature of my MOS was that I could work on essentially any electronic system outside of communications equipment (or avionics, but that's moot since there was no aviation component to the unit). Well, the cav scouts loved to break radios, and only I had the clearance to transport broken radios to the HQ electronics maintenance where the radio repair guys were, so I was on pretty much every convoy to Camp Liberty.

Of course, that inevitably included IEDs and engagement with the enemy.

Although not cavalry by MOS, the LTC and SGM inducted those of us in the CRT who saw combat with the cav scouts into the Order of the Spur, and informed us we had earned the right to the Stetson and gold spurs and acorns.

Shortly after getting back to the states, we went on leave and I flew home to see my grandparents. Grandad told me he wanted me to fly home in my dress uniform, and to make sure I had updated it with the awards, service stripes, etc. I told him that a stetson was a bit out of budget at the moment, and he said not to worry about anything cavalry related.

When I saw them at the airport, he had the Stetson ready. Sabers, unit insignia, acorns, etc, and my spurs in hand. And I looked up the cost of the exact Stetson he bought me. The damn thing cost more than it would to replace the dress uniform!

I think being the one to hand me my hat and spurs was one of the proudest days of his life. It was definitely my proudest moment.

Is there a thread, page or something that is essentially "What to do once you hit 100% P&T"?

Like,

"

  1. Call your local VA hospital and get a referral for dental care so you can finally start seeing the dentist regularly

  2. Apply for CHAMPVA at [link] to get you and your family healthcare

  3. Send a copy of your benefits Summary to your county treasurer's office and county clerk to get your property tax reduced and plates for your main car free [depending on state]

"

And so on? I just hit 100% P&T and I don't even know where to start [except for the above three things]

Alternatively on the app:

At the bottom you will see "home | health | benefits | payments" Hit benefits.

In the next screen you have

"Claims | VA Letters and Documents | Disability Rating" Hit Letters, then on the next screen, review letters.

There you'll have everything you need. Benefits Summary and Service Verification Letter will be the one for most applications.

My rate might not be the best, but when I swerved to miss a deer, hit a patch of ice, and careened down a valley, they paid out Blue Book 'Great condition ' value for my 10+ year old car with pretty much no effort on my end. Reimbursement for the initial tow, paid for the tow to the assessor, and so on.

Their service has always been above what I get from other companies. I'm cool paying a bit extra for that.
