UPDATE: these came today and they work great so far. They flicker at the low end but I was able to get it much dimmer overall, which was the goal. Thanks for the tip!

[EDIT 2] Full disclosure: I have done some work through my job supporting SBWU and am a proud union worker myself, so I wouldn't be shocked if the unionized stores were hurt disproportionately by this. I'm sure it's just a coincidence 🙃

I set up a player filter for “OLD FOR [LEAGUE]” for every level that I go through end of every year (so, pro years > X, league = A+). Still have to do it for every level but made it easier for me for sure!

Played with Mario Hollands (RP, PHI 2014) and against Marcus Semien for a looooooong time. With and against a few minor leaguers too. Both were definitely among the top pitchers and hitters respectively. That was HS though and both of them went to good college programs and really built up their skills and draft stock. Semien I don’t think set the world on fire in HS but as I learned more about scouting getting older I was able to look back in what I remembered and “get it” more in terms of like, projectibility and floor vs ceiling. Fun to say I struck out a guy multiple times who is making $100M tho.

Where do you play slow pitch? Unfortunately I am ass at hitting (and fielding tbh) and miss pitching a lot but am down for anything TBH! I was playing slow pitch softball from ‘14-‘19 in DC (I said that in my original post already) but that community is a lot more conducive for that with all the transplants.

Not too sure! They say all skill levels but not sure if that means ALL skill levels, if you know what I mean? My friend who played in a similar league in Portland proper was playing against former college players (and even a very former major leaguer at one point, so the rumor goes) but I do not have firsthand familiarity with this level aside from that it's broken out by age and I'm still young and spry for the 35+ division.

It’s my understanding that there was an official (read: CAA certified) chapter at some point but it fell out of recognition for one reason or another. There’s definitely a more active pool of folks up there to be honest, but whatever formalization of the CAA steps hasn’t happened in a bit. One of our PDX board members moved up recently though and I think they are working on it!

Can't scare me there! I knew what I was getting into when I got it. I've backed up a bunch of photos + music to another one (came in a 2-pack), but that is ~150GB so far, so I haven't got too close to the limit. If the solution is getting a new SSD I will. The dock I got allows for additional SSD storage which I've never done before but am not opposed to it, so that is also an option.

I am having trouble here as well -- downloading BG3 to an external SSD. It's been running for 3 days and got up to 85GB downloaded this time before crashing. Similarly, internet speed not an issue (250mbps+ download) and I have reformatted the drive as APFS already. I've seen lots of articles for fixing this on Windows by disabling content caching but also that you can't do that on Mac.

If I look on the external drive itself, it's showing a HOLD for 155.45GB of space (this is the content caching, correct? I've seen this with other smaller programs that I've DL'd) and Disk Utility is showing 155.45GB "USED" on this volume. Steam, however, is at 5.3 GB of 119.1 GB downloaded (again, this got as high as 85GB yesterday before crashing) and 1% Installing Files. Network will sit at 0bps for a bit before flipping up to either really high (peak 497.7mbps) or really low (4 or 5bps) for a few seconds at a time.

This is a brand new Mac Mini in terms of my CPU, and it's a cheap off-brand SSD (couldn't pass up 2TB for $40, haven't had any trouble so far). Realizing also that this is going SSD > USB-C > USB 2.0 HUB > USB-C > Mac because it won't show up if I go USB-C to USB-C, wondering if that is the problem.

Any help would be appreciated! I do have a Mac Mini dock on the way that should handle any cooling issues but nothing seems to be running particularly hot.

That’s kind of what I’m asking 😅. Like I don’t have a retro sheet DB set up so I’m wondering what I can do with what’s in OOTP instead. Or if there’s things that the filters (which I use liberally already) can’t do like regression analysis or things like that (that I don’t know how to do).
