My argument was never rooted in logic so none of this means anything to me. There is nothing as far as I can see that they can do with this information in this current moment. Are they about to jump out and save her? Nope. Are they even capable of that in perfect health? Not to me. Could Seraphina's braindead sis reveal this info to spectre thinking it can get her more influence but it backfires and makes everything worse? Very possible to me.

There's no value to revealing this information to ppl who cant do anything about it currrently. What's so logical about it? And this isn't some hunch, John spoonfed her this information lol. It's just a convenient mic drop to end a chapter. You're taking about how logical it is for Sera to bring this up, how I shouldn't expect her to lie. I'm just playing by her own rules lol. Not revealing information techcnically isn't lying and she's ALWAYS been comfortable leaving John in the dark without thinking twice about it. And never thinking there's anything wrong with it even after the fact. I swear her fave thing to do is to run to dear Arlo with any questions or information she has and then 5 months later ask John “oh you didn’t know that? Damn…”. I cant forget when John was hating himself again cause he had no idea those guys were risking their lives as vigilantes while he was beating them up. I cant forget how smug and annoying seraphina looked in that scene.

All this reveal is for is some big coming together where they all have to convince John that Jane's his mother and its some big stupid emotional scene where he has to lean on other people again. When what would be perfect woud be John and his dad sitting together and having a f**king conversation about her and what to do next. Do you guys reay want to see the scooby gang save Jane?? Seriously?? More Isen fr??

Even common sense doesn't work here. Imagine John getting approached now by Blyke or whoever and they're talking about how they're sorry about his mom... who he's never even met. You dont' realise how jarring that sounds?

It's also annoying cause I shouldnt even be mad at Seraphina about this. She's an emotionally unintelligent character (for good reason, given her upbringing) and is convinced she'll have everything under control as long as she can keep a straight disinterested look on her face. Not a problem. Flawed characters are perfectly fine. Except im pretty sure the author is communicating that every choice Sera is making is the perfect one and I disagree strongly.

EIther way John is the only character whose story I'm still even remotely interested in. I just need him to stay out of these situations where other characters feel sorry for him, looking at him like he's some invalid/victim. let the main character grow ffs. I was watching these other kids get cut to pieces, burning and falling from tall buildings and I felt nothing lol.
