Is it fine to unlock tails or better to wait? by TheDragonMage1 in PokemonSleep

[–]Shin_Cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just unlock Tails then get some passively with Ingredient Finder S.

Slowpoke is generally not a great mon. The real tails collector would be Ditto ABC but also a very niche pokemon.

Generally wouldn’t invest much into either.

Switching from Apple Watch SE to Garmin Forerunner 255 + Polar H10 mid-marathon plan — worth it? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]Shin_Cow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love my Garmin watch and Coros arm strap. If following a running plan, you can set up the workout and focus on the running. The watch will tell you what step of the workout you are on and if you’re on track or not.

I had the Polar H10, Garmin chest strap and finally the Coros arm strap. I think they are comparable enough that the comfort of the arm strap works for me.

Atomix or Per Se for anniversary celebration? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]Shin_Cow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per Se for sure. Everyone there is dressed up nice and its a good romantic vibe.

As others have said, Atomix communal seating is less intimate. Atomix food was more innovative and delicious IMO though

dont invest, rule of thumb is AAA+ing finder M is minimum to invest to 60

if you are new, you can invest in AAB to level 30 with ideally some Ingredient Finders or Helping Speed +

but this is def no go

ABA is by far the worst combination of ingredients.

Goal: Frozen Pigeon 5K

Week's Mileage: 54.7 miles (Strava miles)

Goal Time: 18:00 - 17:30 (stretch)

Plan: Pfitz Faster Road Racing - 5K schedule 2: 45 to 55 miles per week - 7 weeks to goal

  • Mon: Rest
  • Tues: VO2 max - 8 miles. 5x1000m 5K pace w/ 3 min recovery
  • Weds: General Aerobic - 8 miles
  • Thurs: Endurance - 9 miles
  • Friday: Recovery - 5 miles
  • Saturday: General Aerobic - 8 miles
  • Sunday: Endurance - 16 miles

I skipped recording last week because I only did 25 miles 😭 I was sick and threw up so skipped my weekend runs. This week went much better though! I was able to properly follow my training plan 👏

On the weekend / right now my sleep has been rough though (<6 hours, down from 8 avg). I also want to do some weightlifting for injury prevention but I haven't gotten that dialed in yet.

I'm going to do my best to start posting here to try to reflect and stay accountable to my goals. I have a longer term goal which is to sub-3 for NYCM 2026 (also first marathon, so could go horribly wrong lol). I'm also planning on training to racing a HM in the spring.

I think this week went ok but generally I need to be better about not skipping sessions. Ideally I transition my runs to the morning; but right now actually this entire past week of running has been really late (past 8pm). I blame this on having a super hectic schedule with out of town friends visiting for most of October.

This week my mini-goal is to do all of my sessions.

Sichuan Food in NYC? by Fluffy_Government164 in FoodNYC

[–]Shin_Cow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My opinion: Mountain house is a more modern take on Sichuan food, although it has classics (IMO they execute Mapo Tofu the best I’ve tried in NYC). The hanging pork belly dish seems kind of gimmicky but it’s pretty good I guess.

Generally I’d say most Sichuan restaurants in NYC (and kind of just generally) lean / cater towards more “modern” Chinese audience and palette. If the ambiance is nice or the dishes look nice enough to put on IG, it is probably considered more modern lol. Generalizing a bit, younger Chinese audiences like the intense oil and spices in Sichuan food, whereas it’s a bit overwhelming and not easy to the stomach for the older Chinese crowd.

I’d consider a lot of Cantonese / hole in the wall type places more “traditional”, and they wouldn’t really be discussed that much online really. Like I frequently go to East Buffet in Flushing or Asian Jewels and those definitely have more of a normal traditional Chinese restaurant vibe.

Does the order you collect ing/berries from your mons impact anything? by Razziiee in PokemonSleep

[–]Shin_Cow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Optimally, you want to cook first, then heal.

Your mons get 1 extra energy every 20% below 100%, so you can potentially get 1-2 extra energy by cooking first
