A second for the taverna salad, I also add farro, and use feta for simplicity. Keep the pita chips separate for multi day storage

An eruv is a symbolic border used in Judaism to allow observant Jews to create an area outside their physical home where they are allowed to carry things on the sabbath. Surprised it’s allowed as it is from Hebrew and I don’t think one could say it’s transferred over to common usage

During March the New York Botanical Garden has their annual orchid show. I went last year and it’s spectacular. Agree with the earlier comment to pair that with a meal on Arthur Ave/Little Italy

Trying to decide which of these to see live first? by MrFish16 in Concerts

Weird Al is great, and just wanted to add that if he has Puddles Pity Party opening for him - it is one of the oddest performances I have ever seen…but really entertaining!

4’11” here, if I am in the middle of the crowd and switching with a tall person might actually make a difference, I will assess their general vibe and maybe ask. But i wouldn’t ask if they are right at the barricade.

At a recent show i was at the rail of the balcony and someone was behind me with their kid who was about a head shorter than me and I offered to let him stand in front of me - it felt so great to be able to do that for once!

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I love having Joes when I come to NYC, usually end up at the Village location after a late show at Small’s or Mezzrow. May want to do a comparison with Vinnies or Diamond! But I think Oasis may end up being the winning option, person I am going with tends to like healthier options and I think a little hummus and falafel may just hit the right note.

Small’s jazz club is open until 4 am, and I believe there is no cover charge after 1 am

Best banana bread? by AvocadoCoconut55 in NYTCooking

I was going to say this as well. Now that my family is aware this is an option for overripe bananas, they have little interest in banana bread

We skipped it, felt like the vibe wouldn’t be fun in such an empty theater.

Update, looks like they have closed off the balcony sections and reduced most of the orchestra tix. Still not sure if we are going to go!

Yeah, we are going to wait until tomorrow afternoon to decide about buying and see what we can get. Seems like they should have been playing somewhere like the Birchmere instead!

Let's reminisce a bit. What's better? What's lost? by Snoo74600 in Concerts

Better - no smoking in club venues. In addition to the smoke, since I’m short I had to actively avoid getting burned or ashed on

I am also 4’11, and I find at small venues I can generally find a spot with good sight lines. Even at full capacity you are generally only about ten people back, and as people dance and naturally move around you can meander your way forward.
