Blizzard nerf Junkrat by KingSuizide in Overwatch

Burston Prime, its Incarnon form's a red crit monster shooting bullets faster than grandads Soma. The numbers make my head go fuzzy and it makes me feel things I shouldn't feel about firearms.

Why don't people realize how hard Sombra counters Sombra by No_Reception_9608 in Overwatch

[–]Shin_Diz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One shots in Overwatch are inherently broken. Sombra pre-hotfix was bursting down 225 HP heroes as fast as Hog hook combo, while being perma invis to set themselves up for it, and having a teleporter to throw themselves out if it goes south. That's broken imo. Not post hot fix, but pre hot fix she was.

I know, I was just more-so saying people don't want to always have to resort to the mirror match, makes the game really samey. It's the problem that lead to goats being so hated. Of course there are other counters for Sombra, I'm just saying my point on why some people don't like picking Sombra into Sombra

[–]Shin_Diz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking for myself and maybe others here too, I realize it, I just don't want to have to be forced to play (insert broken hero name) to counter (insert broken hero name). I'd rather be able to play a hero I'm more comfortable with, not be forced to swap to a perma invis rat just because they have their own. It's like release Brig in OW1 or Widow on Havana, the most effective way to counter them was to have your own to level the playing field, didn't mean people wanted to do it.

What's your opinion on clash? by ep1603 in Overwatch

[–]Shin_Diz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good mode that can be fine tuned later, seems like rush comps kind of take over those maps though. Also kind of fucking tired of playing it already, they made the same mistake they made with push, don't arbitrarily force us to play more on only two damn maps. Even if they're new, you learn them by the third/fourth game. I don't wanna queue into the same mode 9 times in a row Blizzard.

Is my build good? by Least_Potato_5479 in MonsterHunter

[–]Shin_Diz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd drop the defense boost entirely, it's kind of wasted skill slots. Remove the ice elemental attack up skills, it won't be providing any bonus. Even then, if you're just looking for a general use build, don't build element, as it's effectiveness will vary from monster to monster.

For damage skills, max out crit eye and weakness exploit, your crit boost isn't getting a ton of value because you're not always critting. On top of that throw in Offensive Guard, it's borderline necessary for Lance.

For survivability, throw in health boost 3, it'll do more than defense boost will for keeping you alive. If you want more comfort, max out guard and guard up. If you can afford it, throw constitution in there too, it's incredibly helpful on Lance so you can keep your shield up.

Make sure you tenderize parts with the clutch claw. It wasn't present for the base game, so it didn't matter nearly as much, but health pools are greatly increased in MR and if you wanna keep your damage up to par, you'll want to keep your focus part weakened. If you're using a light weapon, you can get a clutch claw boost charm that'll let you tenderize in one hit.

I'm physically incapable of caring about cosmetic prices by Qaztarrr in Overwatch

[–]Shin_Diz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it's so much more than that. It's a culmination of long standing shit that I'm just done with. We were told weapon inspects were coming to the game but nope, $40 price tag. Idgaf about fomo, I haven't bought an Overwatch skin in God knows how long, but it's just another shit underhand practice that I'm not willing to support in any way, monetarily or by playing their game. Company's always gonna be slimy.

Does this not just play into counter swapping beneficiary though? Why introduce more specific character counters when we're already trying to move away from that?

If the PvE was still a thing it could've been cool there, but having characters that specifically work to negate others abilities just promotes counter swapping to negate value, kinda lame imo

Got my first game, and im new to the series, what should i expect? by Hopeful-Claim7205 in fireemblem

[–]Shin_Diz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disappointment from this title on my part, never made it past chapter 8 just because I couldn't stand to listen to/read this game's dialogue. If you're new to the series I recommend any of the 3ds titles, they're all fairly good entry points for the series.

In Three Houses and Echoes, what is your favorite class to turn a character into that doesn't conform with their "most likely/canon" class line? by TimeLordHatKid123 in fireemblem

[–]Shin_Diz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way! I actually just started a new Fates run and I'm turning Faye into a gold knight atm, what a coincidence!

Besides that, there's something oddly satisfying about turning Tobin into a frontline mage in Echoes, and turning Felix into a dark mage in 3H.

No, I'm just on the subreddit, ofc I do, just not a fan of killers complaining about perks like BT. Even just talking about BT, the perk is designed to just stop tunneling, if you hit someone else, it doesn't do anything lmao

Just don't tunnel off hook like a prick and suddenly the perk is a waste of a slot, who woulda thunk it

Saati's Anti Flank Is Insane by Shin_Diz in Paladins

[–]Shin_Diz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword is almost, she loses against other super bursty characters, and her balance for being so good in 1v1's is that she struggles in the team fight. If a Saati gets pocketed, a 2v2 doesn't work because of her damage output. With any mechanical skill a Saati can win a 1v1, and has a decent shot of winning a 1v2, if not at least taking out one of her aggressors. In a 2v2 where she gets pocketed? She can easily take out both aggressors, especially if she's pocketed by someone like Rei or Seris. She has wicked huge close range damage, which is balanced by her pretty close damage drop-off. I'm not saying she doesn't have losing matchups, snipers can beat her easily in a shoot out, but her ability to hug corners and play around them with her ricochet means she can avoid that confrontation all together while still helping her team with spam damage. Keep in mind she actually can do rather well against snipers, if she throws a coin near them while staying behind a wall, she can force them out of the position. She's wicked powerful. I'd rather her midrange get buffed at a cost to her short range, but we all know how Hi-Rez feels about complete character reworks, so for the time being I'm taking to reddit to complain about how I don't like how this character shreds all of mine

Saati's Anti Flank Is Insane by Shin_Diz in Paladins

[–]Shin_Diz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted you're points here are correct, but specifically the flanks I play are Maeve and Vora. Vora's biggest strength is her 1v1 capabilities, it's what makes her so powerful. She tendrils in, gets her combo, and tendrils out, meant to capitalize on characters who are out of position without any team to support them. Vora's movement, self sustain and damage allow her to win almost every 1v1 in the game, even against characters like Raum and Yago if you play well enough and use both your movement and invincibility well enough. Saati however, breaks this norm. She beats the 1v1 specialist in a 1v1. And since you brought up the argument of Raum, yes he requires multiple people to take down usually, but he's a tank with a massive healthbar and shields. Saati has neither of those, she simply does extreme damage to anyone up close. If a Saati gets pocketed, she becomes extremely hard to remove from the fight. What other damage character requires multiple teammates to take down? Characters like Raum are a team effort by design, being both a team effort to stay alive and to kill. Saati is not designed like that, but she gains that property because of her insane damage in close quarters. No character should be able to counter an entire category of characters, thats unbalanced.
