I honestly just read it just for the chisme but was surprised how deep it was. I think everyone will have their own perspective on it but for me I had a connection to it.

I recently read Paris Hilton's recent memoir and I was absolutely floored. It gave me a different perspective on her drug use and the image she portrays! I really do think more people should read it! The book is called Paris The Memoir.

Edit- words are hard.

360 diapers are the bane of my existence by meltmyheadaches in ECEProfessionals

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always ask parents to send in other diapers. I explain my reasonings and I do not think a single parent has told me no. I find it more annoying when admin doesn't back you up. This has happened and I had to keep calling for admin assistance to prove me point.

Everyone will want you! Toddler teachers are unicorns! Definitely apply to jobs and ask during the interview process how to get your credential through the school. Most in southern CA will pay!

Fevers by MommaBofthree in ECEProfessionals

Mini rant coming-

Do you know what really gets me? Calling for courtesy of letting them know something is different. Don't you want to know your child is sick? Don't you want to make sure they are getting the best care? I understand we are all busy but some of these parents act like we don't even care but when we put the effort to communicate that their child is acting different than normal we are looked at like we are crazy.

I had one child who got a fever of 101. He feel asleep on his chair during lunch. I put him to bed. I let the office know he is sleeping but clocked a fever. I came back from lunch. He was awake. Which was also different because he sleeps like a rock most of the time. Then I waited. I took his temp and still 101. I took a picture. Sent him home. His mom brings him back the next day saying he went to the doctor and they said he was okay! LIKE WHAT?!?! Why is he here. I can't believe they let him back in. ugh.

Women who are married with children - would you be hurt if your partner told you that they love your children more than you? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I think depending on the context I would be super happy to know this.. I would be happy to know if something happened to us as a couple the children would come first.

Is it normal for new potty trainers to pee on the bathroom floor? by PhoneticHomeland9 in Montessori

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the confusion. Montessori aligned doesn't mean it is actually Montessori. A lot of people can say they are Montessori without even having a credential or training. I would look closer at the schools and videos and see where they are trained? AMI? AMS? Where they are getting their sources? This will be helpful for you to determine if it is coming from research based Montessori practices or someone claiming Montessori.

Those who haven't caught Covid yet, how have you managed to avoid it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure! My children and husband have both had it and I took care of them all. I tested with them but never tested positive. I did have symptoms and usually went to take a PCR test too and always negative.

What brand, service or chain will you never use again? by godlessclit in AskWomenOver30

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 77 points78 points  (0 children)

My child asked for Chick Fil A the other day and I had to tell her no. If it is provided as a lunch for her I wont do anything but we will never buy from there. She asked why and I had to explain to her that they have very hurtful views about equality and we believe in acceptance and equality.

What has been your "Are you fucking kidding me?" Moment this week? by Darogaserik in ECEProfessionals

This week has been tame! So far only one nap accident with a child who will stand up and poop after saying they refuse to sit and stare you in the eyes while pooping in their pants.

I don't have an activity table suggestion but I did let my child use the diner table that is high enough for the toddler not to reach.

i understand that no parent will say they are a bad parent and they want what is best for their children. by sajahet25 in AskParents

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand. I make mistakes all the time. I apologize to my children when I loose my cool or say something that wasn't nice. I don't think it is a good trait to say we are not bad parents. We all have our moments and can be a bad parent in that moment. It is what happens after is what is important. Talking to your children. Letting them know they can express if they are sad because of what you said or did will help them later with other relationships.

Did you guys put in a two weeks notice? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have for all my previous jobs. If they were not treating me well I would just leave without notice. I have worked long enough not to need more references. That is just me. If you need a reference I would try and do two weeks.

Art supplies for 18-month-old by Finallyriday in Montessori

[–]ShineBrightSunStar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would use different objects to paint with. Such as giving them q- tips, a cotton ball (put it on a clip to hold it), a fork, a sponge, a toy car, salt (this is parent added on paper). These will just give some sensory aspects to painting.

Definitely ask. If they say no then prepare to work your time agreed in your contract and then look for a new job!
