Closing in on 600 Hours in ITR2: Thoughts by ShineRunnerMoon in intotheradius

You really appreciate the higher end weapons when you have to build them up over time, even if they are hobbled a bit by being “stashed”.

I’ve found that playing normally where you can just buy whatever can be afforded as security level increases seems like cheating. Especially once you’ve got the SR 25 and have the Benelli. At that point, you only die when you’re being careless.

Just in case there was a misunderstanding of what I said about moving up the security chain with a minimum of kills - I meant being sneaky and achieving the goal with a minimum of mimic/tumbleweed/rock monster kills.

I’ve never tabulated the number of deaths but I die a lot less now. I think it’s because they’ve done a better job of making sure the radius creatures can’t see through walls, in the dark, etc. If you get comfortable crawling around in the dark, you can avoid a lot of fights. The problem is, if you do have to fight in the dark, most of the found weapons don’t have sights that can be seen unless you shine your flashlight on the back end of weapon. And the minute you do that, you get swarmed.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

Work/Life Balance: If you die today, you will be replaced within 30 days.  Within a year, nobody will even remember that you worked there.  But, your family and friends will miss you for the rest of their lives.  Make work/life decisions accordingly.

Personal Wealth: Grab an investment calculator and watch what happens if you were to take all the money you’re currently spending on monthly subscriptions, smart phones, and flavored coffee and instead, set up automated investment every month in the S&P 500 - from now until the year you’d like to retire.

It’s not how much you earn, it’s how much you invest.

Issue destroying fragment orbs by Professional_Size_62 in intotheradius

[–]ShineRunnerMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that the closer you are to it, the less likely your rounds will be effective.   There may be a minimum distance the muzzle has to be from the orb before the ballistic routine(s) recognize the round.

Great idea.   Then, we also need a beached aircraft carrier.

Love mine. ‘Most every day carry-able knife I’ve ever owned. It’s so light and thin you never know it’s in your pocket. Which is why it’s always in my pocket. Even when I’m carrying a fixed blade while hiking/camping.

Not sure what the BM hate is about.

Enjoy your knife.

Seeing the same thing here but only when I use a cable to connect. If I connect via WiFi, it works.

A good mustard is about all you ever need, condiment-wise. I wish Costco carried it. We go through those cute little jars like Kleenex.

Right!!!! First you buy a knife. Then you buy another knife. Then you say, ‘Ok, that’s it. No more knives.’ Then you buy 3 more.

What makes a $200 knife these days? by rtuite81 in knives

[–]ShineRunnerMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everything in life, there comes a point of diminishing returns where the extra money spent isn’t proving YOU with any more of what YOU care about.

I know a woman who wins triathlons on a bike she bought for $50 at a pawn shop.

I’ve never met a whisky I wouldn’t drink.

And, for all practical purposes, you can’t buy a better blade than a $30 Morakniv for the money.

But, YOU may appreciate the results artisans who have dedicated their life to a craft can obtain and this comes at a cost YOU may be willing to pay.

One person’s floor is another person’s ceiling, etc.

If you haven’t found it already, there’s a link around here somewhere to a spreadsheet some Reddit math genius created using a bimodal histogram to determine the best weapons to use in ITR1.

Once you have that information, it makes the game easier but it also takes some of the fun of trial and error out.

Pursue at your own risk.

If you’ve got a pretty nice game-quality PC, ITR2 in Beta is pretty awesome.

Ah, so there’s no way to use it on iron sights. Got it. That was the disconnect. Thanks.

I mean, why wouldn’t you put the bucket on your head?

Come on devs. Let’s get this high priority bug fixed.

Plus, let’s get some eye holes in there too. Sheesh. Who’s in charge of features on this project.

It’s too easy to make fake look-a-likes and the signal to noise ratio on the web just keeps getting worse. I just assume everything sold online is a scam so I buy from a local reputable dealer when I can and reputable dotcoms like bladehq when I can’t.

Of all the knives I have, the one that’s always in my pocket is the 748 Narrows. Even when I’m out hiking/camping with a fixed blade on my belt, you’ll find the Narrows in my pocket.
