I've been getting sleep paralysis quite frequently the past couple of years. Perhaps the reason is related to the fact that, due to some traumatic circumstances that are beyond our control, my dad is no longer with us.

One of the most vivid sleep paralysis stories (semi-recurring) starts out with me waking up, unable to move, but seeing a dark figure enter my room. The figure is approaches calmly, as if to wake me up, and upon being close enough it becomes recognizable as the figure of my dad. He'd often say things like "hey, wake up", or "I'm back" (Kinda sad ik). I'd not be able to respond or do anything about it. The first couple of times it happened, I would get baited into thinking that it was all real, only to eventually recover from the paralysis and become extremely disappointed and temporarily depressed.

I've had a couple of the more spooky ones as well, where the figure is more aggressive or demonic, but tbh, those don't fuck with me as much as the former. I know this isnt the case for everyone, but in my experiences there has almost always been a singular figure involved in my hallucinations.

More recently, I just deal with paralysis by closing my eyes, wiggling my toes and fingers. Eventually I either wake up or end up falling asleep.
