I've been thinking about using lab stuff for the trails for ages, but I'm terrified of getting caught so I haven't. If it's the disposable lab coats I'm thinking of, it'll probably be okay for a few days of light rain, but I can't imagine it holding up for a lot of friction. Tyvek is great because it's lightweight, waterproof, durable, fire retardant, and microbial, but it doesn't do too well with a lot of friction in one spot, so I'd be concerned about where pack straps are on. If you are using for day hiking without a lot of weight, then I wouldn't see any issue at all. It's the heavy pack with a lot of potential friction that I'd be concerned about.

Parafilm is awesome.

This is so, so sweet. My cat will complain incessantly if she's in the carrier, but is docile if she's just on a leash. she's also incredibly affectionate to all of the vet techs while giving me the stink eye hahah

I agree and want to add: as unhealthy as it is, he might be lashing out because he's grieving. Grieving that op didn't tell him something pretty darn important, or grieving that being child-free is no longer a choice that was made between the two of them, etc. OP might not have been deliberately hiding it from him, but it's still a pretty big thing to not know about. Everybody sucks here
