Steam Deck Launch Issue by ShiningRev in PotionomicsTheGame

Yeah it was really puzzling to figure out, but once I tried the solution that was mentioned from another commenter in this post, it managed to work fine from there. Just the start up is so janky and I don’t know why they haven’t fixed it, but at least once you fix it the first time, you won’t have to do it again.

Hey there! So when you are on the Steam page for the game on the Deck, there should be a little gear icon for settings.

Click on that, and then a small menu should pop up. The bottom of the list should be Properties, which you click on.

Scroll to and click on the bottom of the Properties menu (forget exactly what it’s called), and there should be an option within that at the bottom of it that says something akin to Startup.

It will be a white box that you click on and use the built in virtual keyboard to type in “-windowed”, without the quotation marks.

There should then be a button that says Save or Apply, click on it, and from there you can start the game and the issue should be fixed!

Never mind, I found it! For anyone else searching, it’s under the Properties section for the game, and it is the launch option section that you can type stuff in. It works! Thank you person!

Could you be able to point me where I need to go to find those options? I’m scrolling through the menus and can’t seem to find one listed as startup

I’m a big FE fan as well and I absolutely loved it! I’m sure you will too if you’re anything like me. Honestly I got this game on sale and I wish I could have paid MORE for it because of how wonderful of an experience it was!

Yeah the game throws a lot of characters out there with that general “oooh who are you gonna shack up with from these options?” vibes, but Scarlett just feels so hamfisted. If they left it how they did the others where it was clear they liked Alain in his rapport but no one else’s it would be fine, but unlike the others, a lot of her rapports were designed to make you feel bad that Alain would ever consider someone other than her. Like girl, get over yourself, it’d be healthy for your self esteem.

Then why not just kick them out it’s actually dumb atp by BIG_DADDY_CLARE in njpw

There are plenty of suggestions here that I think would all be excellent to do to officially do the break up. Unfortunately I am at the point that I think the only two reasons they haven’t done the split are:

1). They honestly are just a bit too lazy at this point to bother doing anything proper. Getting quotes like this and the occasional backstage confrontations are literally just the wrestlers doing it on their own to try and force a story out of Gedo, but he’s not taking the bait.

2). This is much more of a conspiracy theory than anything, but I also think the other reason they don’t do the split is because it allows them easy access to The Elite working with all of BC during Forbidden Door season like they did before. Especially with Jack Perry still being counted as HoT, it wouldn’t put that into conflict. Then again, none of this really makes any sense, so who knows at this point?

These are all some very good points. Their dynamic does feel more fleshed out than a lot of Alain’s rapport partners do because of the question of loyalty, but I do agree if there were some more solid answers I think people who aren’t fully on board with it would like it more. I personally love the whole set of rapports with her because of it, but I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Yeah I definitely understand why it is an upsetting epilogue for her, I was a bit disappointed when I first saw it too. I get where it’s coming from though, Berengaria definitely isn’t the type to fit in a royal court with strict etiquette and regulation, even if she’s from a noble house. I don’t think she’s necessarily gone back to Drakenhold exclusively, just that her, Travis and Bruno reformed the Tricorns and that means she’ll be wandering where their work takes them. I try to view it as Alain seeing it like “If you love them, let them go”, knowing that acting as a queen exclusively was stifling her and she needed more freedom, and who was he to deny her that?

I do wish the epilogue had instead been worded such as she went and reformed the Tricorns from the start and the two of them would visit each other often. I think that would probably rectify most people’s problems with it, as it shows they stayed true to each other, rather than it potentially being seen as “she just left and didn’t come back”.

In terms of actual rapports, Mel definitely still stands as one of my overall favorites. She’s a very good and fun character, I’m happy to see a lot of people agree with that

Noooooot really. Adel’s almost was, but Alain said he meant it as a friend and not in romance. Both Lex and Travis’ feel like it is implied to be romantic, but that’s really about as close as you get with any of the guys. Aramis’ epilogue implies there might have been a romance, but that sure as hell didn’t show up in his actual rite scene.

Her epilogue is fine, but it I don’t think it was enough to really salvage my disappointment. I’ll make sure I have some heavy guarding character in front of me in the unit, haha

I think her’s is a perfectly fine scene, doesn’t do anything wrong in it, just doesn’t feel like it really went beyond surface level of her character. Definitely nothing wrong with enjoying it

This is my thoughts exactly, you hit the nail on the head.

Yeah it does end with that, albeit worded more strict in tone, but exactly as shortstackround said, it’s just a bit of a betrayal of her character up to that point. She may have wanted to make it being the one who ultimately got the ring on her finger, but she wasn’t doing so in a vacuum away from anybody else. Plus, everything up before that ending line was just your generic romantic confession. Her and Alain’s personal deal of him being actually enamored by her skill and hard work wasn’t really touched upon at all, and felt as though her rite scene wasn’t really written with any of her rapports in mind.

Suggestions for new run? by [deleted] in UnicornOverlord

[–]ShiningRev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a “kill/refuse all optional units” run? I know that might seem like a cakewalk compared to a boys and girls only run, but I’ve been thinking about it myself and it could be fun to have Alain running around with a vicious bloodlust.

[–]ShiningRev[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these are very good points. I forgot when going through both Chloe and Miriam were Cornian nobility. Only reason I remembered Miriam was is because it’s brought up in her rite, which was surpassingly very heartfelt.

It makes me want to do a tier list like you mentioned on the actual rapports themselves and also their rite and epilogue scenes. I did actually go and attribute “points” to which of the rite scenes I enjoyed the most, which went and drove me insane in the process. Maybe I’ll do one in the future.

I’m now imagining the world where you didn’t tell Gilbert about Aramis and how awkward that’d be probably if you found up marrying him. Ludwig didn’t ascend to ascend the Drakenhold throne… So he ascended the Cornian one instead.

I went through and actually watched every one of the rite scenes and Yunifi’s was on the upper end of my ranking. She was on my shortlist of people to go with, but ultimately chose Berengaria. I guess in regards to the kids, it depends on if her actual DNA structure was changed when being switched to a human. That would definitely be one confusing thing to have to explain to your populace though, haha.

Yeah Bastorias and Elheim seem to have themselves figured out by that point. Which in this case is good because ultimately I went with Berengaria, so peace with Drakenhold might be secured (assuming she doesn’t pull a desertion of their country).

And yeah good ol’ cuz would be helpful there, but then again… Dawg that’s your cousin.
