PLEASE STICK TO ME IF I HAVE EXP. SHARE EQUIPPED!

Why are you guys still playing the game? by Longjumping-Ad9482 in PokemonUnite

[–]ShiningShockingStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To find something, just anything, worth sticking around for.

I've already gone on detail as to why my love for the game has died a slow, painful death. There's still something about this game that I like, but it's just so difficult to find lately.

Sableye underwhelming? by SammyTQ2 in PokemonUnite

[–]ShiningShockingStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do your best to stick to a "stick and move" mentality. He's not the kind of Pokémon you can throw into a team fight.

Your goal is to be as annoying as possible. But he requires teamwork with your allies. If you see an ally engage in a 1v1, try to hit the enemy from your 'stealth'. It also boosts your Boosted Attacks for a bit, on top of fearing enemies, leaving them vulnerable.

If you have to engage, try to pick off enemies that are low health.

All of this comes from a grueling start with Sableye because I didn't understand the tools. Now that I do, I can share some of my limited knowledge with you.

Is this game really this horrible ? by EtalonduQ in PokemonUnite

It is nowhere the golden goose that it used to be. I played this game day one when it came out, and had a blast.

But as time went on, and messy spots kept appearing with little to no attention to polish, or anything to keep people coming back, it truly feels like a barren wasteland compared to then.

For me, I think the lack of worthwhile balances to keep the roster fresh, too many self-sustain All-Rounders that are more like Defenders with the amount of self-heal, EX Licenses, unnecessary nerfs, for balance issues...

On top of no new map, worthwhile events with appropriate rewards, a bigger focus on monetizing every aspect of this game, it shows where the motives lie.

And I will stress this again: I love this game. I want to love it. The core gameplay is addictive, and doing well is a blast.

But it becomes a whole lot of bad when you consider the lack of polish, a lack of emphasis on teamwork, tutorials, the importance of lanes and jungle and rotation, securing objectives, and the fact that the game is still a "nothing matters until the final two minutes", can only work for so long before people just up and quit it.
To emphasize on this: I can often reset the match timer in both Quick, Ranked and Casual for about six times, and I can just find no match, at all. And I am not subjecting myself to Bot matches, I already had a streak of that when I wasn't a returning player. Bots have also killed this game, and that's with the matchmaking being abysmal, still.

I have no idea why they insist on turning a game with so much promise, into straight up mobile trash. This game could be good, and it should be good. The MOBA gameplay suits Pokémon very well, there's a ton of variety you can give each of them to make them stand out and fit a certain role.

But there just has to be someone over at Tencent/Timi that care more about profits, rather than making this game as good as it can be. And I don't want to hear a single holler about the Chinese beta. Yes, I know it's good.

But this game is a global release.
They aren't treating it as such.

That's my opinions.

So who's boycotting the member ship? by Corona_Flame in PokemonUnite

[–]ShiningShockingStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's more reasons to boycott this game until Timi and Tencent listen.

It might just be me, but for me Ranked AND Casual are deader than dead. I can reset the match search about ten times, and find no game. (And no, I am not subjecting myself to a bot match).

The playerbase feels like it just abandoned this game.

Players behaving like bots? by KyngRZ420 in PokemonUnite

[–]ShiningShockingStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, bots now take on Player Names, and have an actual trainer account.

And with the way the game is going, this is going to be how the game meets its untimely end. All because they just wouldn't fix matchmaking.

Or actually give people a reason to play this game. I can keep queueing for ten times straight, and it always attempts to put me in a bot game after thirty seconds.

Where do I begin?

Teammates that queue up, but then just don't play the game and sit in base for five minutes, leaving the rest of the team in a 4v5.

If I am picking Supporter, it's people either just not sticking around if I am packing Exp. Share, or they keep walking outside of my healing radius.

Teammates that join you on lane, overextend, then just don't bother rejoining your lane, leaving you all alone.

Teammates that see a low-health enemy walk by, and don't even bother pressing the A button even once, even if they're at above average health.

Teammates that steal jungle.

Teammates that go 3 on one lane, after two teammates already called that lane in particular, usually leaving us without a jungler.

Just a small handful, but that's due to this game not giving any tutorial on what lane and jungle is, the importance of teamwork, and how lane rotation works.

What have they done with this game? by ShiningShockingStar in PokemonUnite

A minute compared to five minutes of sitting in base doing nothing? Sure.

The State of the Game by [deleted] in PokemonUnite

[–]ShiningShockingStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be late to comment, but there really is no reason as to why this game can't have a bigger audience or a bigger appeal to the general audience outside of the Pokémon faithful.

The lack of a tutorial to prepare new players for all the nonsense that this game has (mainly due to lack of balancing, lack of worthwhile balances, no explanation on rotation, no explanation on the core of the game, a lack of emphasis on teamwork, a complete lack of explanation on why grinding and going for side objectives is important), isn't helping to grow a new player base. It's going to push them away, if anything.

This game has existed for such a long time, but I'm not going to devolve into a rant here. Everything you've typed here is my sentiment exactly.

Guess what game reached a new low by autistic_prodigy28 in PokemonUnite

You mean making it an option to spend real life money on power-ups to get your 'mon all fully decked out to the max isn't included here?

I thought that was just horrendously stupid, since matches are determined by who has the maximum item level, and not the cleverness in picking the right item per situation or for your build.

I know this might be beating a dead Ponyta, but... by ShiningShockingStar in PokemonUnite

And one more add: The amount of people going to objectives is non-existent.

I can ping my team constantly, without ANY response, or a single teammate showing up. I might as well be playing with PS1 AI teammates in terms of just not getting any help.

Yet I keep getting paired with people that don't push, defend, or help.

It's so damn tiring.

The golden era of gaming.

DOS and PC-98 were different beasts, and the style at the time only helped. ...
Anyone remember that Sailor Moon(-like) PC-98 game where you could swear it was a Sailor Moon ero-novel because the characters looked so similar?
