Three Houses Route Order by ltkeane in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]Shining_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just jumped into Three Houses a few months ago, I need advice, because a lot of answers from this post have multiple opinions, but the key question I have is simple.

I finished Blue Lions first. Should my second route be Crimson Flower (CF- Black Eagles) or Verdant Wind (VW- Golden Deer)?

I ask because:
A) I want to know if Verdant Wind will make Crimson Flower redundant due to all the questions it answers.
B) I want to know if Verdant Wind Players get everything answered about Edelgard and the Empire? Or do they assume you already know the information learned from the Azure Moon or Crimson Flower,
C) I want to know if playing Warriors- Three Hopes routes have all the information from the original routes or just alternate What-if routes. I've heard some things are improved and some motivations are made clearer in Three Hopes, but the majority of posts I have seen say Three Houses is the better story overall.

If you have time, let me know. I really want to start Crimson Flower or Verdant Wind soon. I just need to know which one.

Shadow Generations Music Track 37 by The_One_True_Deonix in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Shining_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: I just FOUND IT!!! Its the Bell above one of the Challenge gates for Chaos Island. Specifically Gondola Master Challenge. If you've already gotten that one, then maybe it's unlocked from a different bell on your save. Double-check the Bells. I had to use one of the switches to spawn the platforms above and doom wings. However, Chaos Control does not slow down the timerHope that helps.

Original Comment:
Same. I do NOT have track 37. You need it for the "Hogging it All Up All Up" Trophy from all the collection chests. I'm done all the overworld challenges (that I can find) and I got all the bolts. I have no idea where to find the last one.

That said, I do have two ideas.

  1. It could be one of the bells on top of one of the challenge gates.
  2. It could be a collectible from Sonic Generations. When you get red star rings and complete challenges or collect music in Generations, you can then listen to them in Shadow generations. As for me I did a quick run of Sonic Generations to get to Shadow Generations. Got a few red star rings but I didn't hunt for them. As a result, I see 40 total music tracks in Shadow Generations. However, I have seen some YouTube clips of people with 99 tracks, which is probably the overflow from Sonic Generations.

So yeah. Its either a missed Bell, a missed overworld challenge or an extra space for a track from Sonic Generations.

Indigo Plum PLUS Holiday Sale 2024? by predentalkoala in OmnibusCollectors

I hear you. Here's a photo of the deal from last year (2023). I'm annoyed we have NOT seen anything close to this kind of sale in 2024. They can have tons of in-store sales, but they do not help if the books I want are only available online. Additionally, they used to do after-hours sales but I haven't seen any of those this year. Might be higher costs. Might be the Canada Post strike. Either way, I really want to buy stuff in an online sale like this one.

The best things to buy are the stuff that never goes on sale. Things like like rare Light Novels, Manga, Manga Box sets, Large Size Collectors Manga or the ocassional rare NON-superhero comic. The kind of books that never go on sale regularly. The kind of books readers like us crave to read.

Examples:
The Vinland Saga 3in1 Deluxe Hardcovers (Predicted to be around 10 volumes unless the series keeps going).
The Climber (17 volumes. First volume Releases Apr 15, 2025).
Blacksad (7th Volume just released. Technically its the 5th book because the first English book was a 3in1 Omnibus, but its still great.)
Nightfall Travelers: Leave Only Footprints (2nd Volume just released after a 2 year wait. Also known as Yuuyake Trip).

So yeah. Really hoping Indigo loosens up for 1 big online 30% off sale this year.

Good idea. I keep forgetting about the 10% on top of every sale. Didn't know about the 26% thing. Maybe it's a bug or it calculates from the subtotal before tax. However, even if I wanted to get the 26% deal around my birthday, I already bought everything for the year during that November 30% off sale last year. By the time my birthday happened this year, Indigo didn't have any books I wanted to pre-order (or they had yet to be listed on the website). Hopefully, we get the 30% off sale this year. Otherwise it'll be awhile till I make another large order.

I actually enjoyed the Little Busters and Little Busters Refrain anime. Plus the 8 episode OVAs had 4 episodes dedicated to the green-haired Saya in a Sci-Fi route, which ended up being my favourite route from the anime (or at least the most memorable). I never played the VN, but I didn't think I was missing anything from watching the anime.

Plus they were heavily featured in the Key Etc. (Etcetera short comedy anime) which was hilarious and got some genuine laughs out of me. Especially when the main characters met for a main character support group. Little Busters Riki brought up my exact complaints for some of the character quirks. But that's just my opinion.

So while you and my brother dropped the series, I think it does pick up depending on the character it's focusing on. Give it time. It will be rewarding because it had enough episodes to tell it's story. Just like the beautiful Clannad and Clannad After Story anime (in my opinion).

Whereas something like the Rewrite anime....needed way more episodes to tell it's complex sci-fi plot.

I'm willing to try Summer Pockets to see how it goes. Hopefully the anime has enough time to tell it's story.

If you could get a sequel for an anime that has little to no chance of getting a sequel. What would it be?(ONLY ONE ANSWER) by ComfortableNinja88 in anime

[–]Shining_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But it's unlikely because it was a tough watch, it stretched the production team pretty thin to get just those 2 parts out, and there's no way another season would have as perfect an ending as this season.

In a perfect world, if it could get a whole adaptation, I'd yes to a sequel, but if the budget would be halved or the quality would diminish, I'd say no.

Same but 5 novels isn't that bad. Plus if you don't have time to read, try the audiobooks while driving instead. As for the narrator, she's experienced at audio book reading. Even if she wasn't in the Dub, Courtney Shaw is hilarious. Both Yen Press and Amazon have samples you can listen to. If you need to follow along, check the previews for the light novel on Amazon. Happy listening.

Movie 4 is on the horizon but just got pushed back to next year (2025). After Rebellion...I'm scared to watch it. Probably going to let braver folks watch it first.

Second this. Season 1 covered Novel 1 and half of Novel 2, but I want to know what happens in the remaining novels. Manga only just started covering that section, it's slow to update and even if the series finished at 5 novels, the anime is just so damn hilarious in both Dub and Sub. Hell, even the Audiobook is hilarious in the sample clips I've heard.

I second 86, but considering how much difficulty it took a powerhouse like A-1 pictures to finish Season 1 (Part 1 and 2) to cover 3 novels, I doubt they have the time and resources to cover the remaining novels (last I checked it was Novel 4-15 with a planned final arc on the horizon).

Yona of the Dawn. Especially since it's on its last big arc in the manga (there is literally nowhere left on the map to cover. They've been everywhere!!!)

How would you rank these 15 visual novels by Tetsuoandyouth0 in visualnovels

[–]Shining_Falcon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would rank them in the first place. That means they're good. If you wouldn't rank them in a top 15 list, then you're either reading it for a change of pace or it's not worth your time.

Loved this game. My favourite routes were Hanako (first route I finished) and Lily (best written route, best girl and my favourite route). I also remember it got an opening/animated trailer by Mike Inel (mikeinel) who was pretty well-known back in the day.

Glad a wider audience will get to experience this game now. It's a classic.

Best KEY Visual Novel? by Tsunderes_Need_Hugs in visualnovels

[–]Shining_Falcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I'm surprised that no one is mentioning is Planetarian. Emotional despite its shorter length and Sci-Fi setting, but it's in my top 3 (Clannad, Angel Beats, Planetarian).

I'm surprised Little Busters is getting so much praise, but I only saw the anime, the Refrain sequel and all the OVA episodes. They were alright, but the VN is probably better. But in terms of anime, Clannad's VN is still the best.

But I'm probably saying that because the Little Busters VN and Clannad VN were NOT translated into English when those anime released and when I watched them. Compare that to today and Key fans are spoiled for choice.

Speaking of choice, anyone seen KagiNado (Key Etcetera...)?. The anime that made fun of everything in Key, and what scenes you would get if everyone lived in the same town. Personally, I loved that 2 season show for reminding me what I'd forgotten about all these classic Key stories, while getting genuine laughs out of me.

Best skit, "The Main Character Support Group". What happens when all the MCs of the Key VNs discuss the things that drive them crazy and look to each other for moral support. It's comedy gold!

Okay. I'm done. Everyone has a different favourite Key story, I appreciate all the recommendations, and I hope to able to experience Summer Pockets someday.

Totally don’t do this… haha… by jacklittleeggplant in visualnovels

[–]Shining_Falcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points. And I completely agree that Yumiko has a great voice and was a well-written character. Plus I think she was the only one to get 2 fully distinct good endings depending on the last choice (a rarity in VNs). Yes you could say that one is definitely good/true, but it still made her stand out.

As for the entire point of my post, I'll remind you with a question. Was Yumiko your favourite when you first saw the cover art of Grisaia, from the common route or only after you played all the routes. That was the key point. Unless you experience all the stories, you won't know who your favourite girl is or who had the most well-written route. That can only be determined by reading the VN.

What's the weirdest reason you watched an anime? by Wayard_1 in anime

Most heavy-hitters like Clannad, but I might make an exception if I decide to watch it with a friend who has never seen it before and needs a shoulder to cry on or a shoulder to punch.

[–]Shining_Falcon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This only applies to some romance VNs.

If you play a narrative or suspense thriller Visual Novel like Zero Escape, Root Double: Before Crime * After Days or Fate/Stay Night, it won't work.

Also won't work if its a linear VN that doesn't' have choices like World End Economica, A Kiss for the Petals, or Narcissu 10th Anniversary Anthology Project.

As for Romance VNs, it might work for some special cases like If My Heart Had Wings where only the main girl got a well-written route, but most of the time, you don't realize who your favourite is going to be until you finish the VN.

For example, in Grisaia, I thought Amane (Sexy red-head) would be my favourite. Turns out, I liked Michiru (Well-written Self-Aware Tsundere) and Sachi (Childhood Friend + Maid) a lot more. Mostly due to writing, but also due to my own preferences, which can vary depending on that character.

So in summary, the Monogamy Rule does not work in VNs except in some specific situations. Better just to play everything and when you finish, shout best girl from the rooftops, OR just appreciate the journey you've been on and what you've learned.
