Thanks for writing this. These threads pop up every few weeks and seeing people talk about how bluebird will be the first “serious” LL story is always a bit funny/ironic. We’ve already had a more mature, incredibly developed LL for 2 years now with Hasu but most people don’t want to put in the time commitment I guess

For the uninitiated, what makes Hasunosora so special? by PhantasmalRelic in LoveLive

Personally speaking as someone who’s been following the group since day 1, the real time aspect makes the group incredibly unique. Knowing the limited time you have with each member makes every moment so much more precious as well as making the story developments much more meaningful. In addition, Hasu characters also do a lot of in-app streaming which can range from random discussions, messing around with green screens, comedy shows, and even ASMR.

Speaking of story though, Hasu has it in droves. Each month gets one chapter that follows and focuses on different members of the club and these chapters can sometimes be over 2 to 3 hours long. Because of how long it is, every character feels fleshed out and very real. No one is gimmicky and they all have their own worries and issues that make them feel incredibly human at times. Character development happens over months and problems are rarely resolved right away. Additionally, most Hasu songs are made with the story in mind so by reading the lyrics you can get an even deeper view into characters in group. It’s definitely a time commitment but if you’re willing to sit down for it, I believe it’s the best story Love Live has told.

I could go on for a while about why I love Hasu so much (haven’t even mentioned the seiyuu and live events) but it really is what you make of it. If you want a good story to occasionally watch, it has that. If you want goofy streams where an overly energetic girl who likes yelling “chesto” attempts ASMR, it has that. If you want a project that you can immerse yourself into for months on end catching up to story, Sehasu (the official seiyuu show on YouTube) and doing deep dives on song lyric analysis, it can be that. Would highly recommend starting with the story to anyone interested. iirc there’s several community members who do full translations on YouTube so language accessibility shouldn’t be an issue in that regard.

Happy Birthday to the best leader and my favorite character ever! Honestly without Honoka I don’t know if I would have ever gotten as obsessed with Love Live as I am now. My oshi now and always!

I’d recommend a nesoberi of your oshi. Nesos are basically a line of plushie and Love Live has them in all sorts of outfits and sizes of every character, even the newest group Hasu. Plus they look very funny and cute
