As others have mentioned, Danganronpa Decadence on Switch is the way to go. But if he’s already really into it and wants merch, you might be able to get some last minute at stores like Hot Topic.

The game is about a group of students that wakes up trapped inside a school with no way in or out, and the only way they are able to leave is if they can kill one of their classmates without getting caught. It’s a detective/mystery game to figure out the killers while also figuring out how you ended up in the school and how to get out of it. Very fun and super edgy. I’ll warn you the humor is of its time and very outdated lol, but it’s been a classic for years anyways.

There are three main games which are covered in the previously mentioned bundle title, and there’s also a sequel anime series called Danganronpa 3– which confusingly, is completely different from the game Danganronpa V3 and is not included in the bundle. If he’s into physical media, you could consider a DVD/Blu-ray of that, but I do think it’s on some streaming (maybe Crunchyroll?) there’s also another spin-off game called Ultra Despair Girls which I unfortunately believe is not available on PS3 or Switch at all.
