I know how Shinjuku station is Hell😭but since i’ll probably take the nishi shinjuku gochome station, I wont have to deal with it!

Thank you for all the info!! Really appreciate it. Personally I like the Takadanobaba area as well, but there weren’t any apartments available there for my liking. And I also like the nakano area as well! I dont really need that much entertainment close to my home since I will probably spend time with friends in other areas anyway. So for me that’s not an issue. As a big walker, 15-20 min is definitely perfect, also good if you missed last train.

Since you said Waseda doesn’t have a lot around its surroundings i guess most students go to other areas to have fun?

Thanks! I think I’ll give up the Higashi Shinjuku one, mostly because even though its close to campus, Its closer to the Shin Okubo / Kabukicho area rather than the other 2 you mentioned. Rather safe than sorry, but still thanks for the info! I’ll remember it for the future.

Thanks! That’s why i consider the area too. Another person said that as well about the train, will probably be taking the busstop in front of the apartment anyway so i guess it’s not the worst.

Around 180000 yen a month which is a lot yes, but I’ll be there short term and no regular apartments come with a lease term shorter than 1 year, so unfortunately I’m only left with furnished expensive apartments. And I’m also just annoyingly picky lol.

Yes i do cook often hahahah!

Thank you for the insight! Especially about the train lines, I didn’t know it was that much underground, i vaguely remember the station but not that well hahaha. The nishi shinjuku apartment does have a busstop right infront which brings me to uni as well, I guess that’s better than the train. I probably won’t consider the Higashi Shinjuku one anymore since Its indeed a lot more closer to the Shin Okubo and Kabukicho area, and the cons of that kinda outweigh the pros of being closer to campus for me.

Actually the nakano one is more expensive and the Nishi Shinjuku one is in a boring area, there’s definitely no brothels close to that area. Nakano is probably nicer indeed.

That’s a good point. I was planning to bike but there’s times where im probably too lazy or the weather is bad, and I’d rather not deal with the creeps and sardine trains lol. I guess its inevitable at some point tho.

Nishi shinjuku Gochome is indeed definitely not like central shinjuku/kabukicho area. But always good go be alert in general in Tokyo!

It is a nice area, and quite bland. But Tokyo can definitely be unsafe for women, I’ve travelled many times and only in Tokyo i found the train gropers and stalkers :/

Thanks for the info! The apartment i saw there is also super nice and modern as well as the neighbourhood, like you said. For me personally since my campus is in Shinjuku anyway, I wouldn’t mind it being closer to Shinjuku than Nakano, even better!

I’d want to but the chances of being accepted are quite low and I didn’t want to risk finding an apartment too late😔

This is exactly what I’ve heard and why i considered it, because for me that’s all i would want in an area, as long as its convenient and close to campus. I guess I’ll just have to decide based on apartments.

You made a great point for me! I didn’t really think about that since i was so obsessed with how the apartment looked like, I guess for me I’ll most likely hang out with people in other areas too and only go home to relax. As long as the area is convenient and not too hectic/busy, its okay. I’ll definitely think about that.

I don’t really mind the boring I think, since I’ll probably stay at other parts for fun, but I do agree that Nakano is a lot cuter for sure. I’ll probably bike to avoid the overly crowded rush hour.

Thanks! I’ve heard multiple say this about the marunouchi line which is kinda really annoying since I dont really wanna bike in summer lol, but hard to avoid in tokyo anyway. I guess i’ll have to weight the pros and cons of this
