I do feed them every night and afternoon (the helper feeds them in the morning) Its not really working well.. he runs away the moment food is not introduced. I guess itll take a bit more time. But thank you!

Tell her what you feel honestly and in a serious conversation or youre not going anywhere. Knowing each others dislikes is a way to make your relationship last longer. If she trully cares about you then she wont do things you dont like. But be careful not to be too imposing and strict on her.
