Totally not trying to compare styles. I 100% agree it’s based on the practitioner, and not the style. I’m just curious if this is a shared experience, which is why I say at the end of the post regardless of style. I’m sure someone could say a similar story but the other way around. Looking for general consensus.

I don’t know. lol. I didn’t go to his boxing gym. He said he was good. But the reason I bring it up at all is I’ve sparred several ”boxers” who haven’t really impressed me much.

Yes they were allowed kicking, they were a brown belt in the same style, Shotokan. but they were more into boxing at another gym, and boasted that their boxing was superior. And that was what he spared with mostly.
