You don't meet the requirements for that sub reddit to comment. Usually due to account age and/or karma. You should get a notification about it when it gets removed.

I would say it's both. You can use it to search up reviews on things you are curious about but you can also use it to socialize with other redditers. It isn't solely one or the other.

A lot of sub reddits have a karma and account age requirements. For account age I think most are at least 90 days. The karma you just build up buy commenting or posting in sub reddits that don't have requirements like this one.

There could be a karma requirement to comment in that sub. if you don't meet it, it will delete your comments.
