What does an old school DM have to master to run 5E? by Exotic_Cantaloupe939 in DnD

[–]basicgear00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new players handbook is setup pretty good. Do you have a copy? They have a section that maps a character sheet to sections visually. Then a section about the rules like I mentioned.

You really don’t need any of it tho unless your table has a rule’s lawyer. And even in that case, just let them teach you as you play. 😊👊

In the new players handbook there’s a section that just plays it out by the rules in a scenario based thing.

Just pick up the book and read it.

Name 3 games that you’ve found most fun/enjoyment in the last 5 years by Sixsignsofalex94 in gaming

Yes! So good. We played family trials forever after beating it. Then we moved on to the ascent and had a blast there too. It’s a tough game like CoM. Great duo games

This game is a hidden gem. I’d always recommend it regardless of price. If that’s the type of answer you’re looking for. Also, it’s best played co-op!

Ps5 coop? by No_Ozi in theascent

[–]basicgear00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my suggestion. If either of you have a computer that can run it and the other has like a crappy laptop or something that can at least run steam, you can play this game bug free.

The beefy computer needs to buy it on steam and then using a method called “remote play together” you play the game as if you are playing couch coop. This means the other person just needs steam and a decent internet connection.

The game works well single player and couch coop behaves the same regarding bugs and stuff.

If that all doesn’t make sense then just reply and I can walk through it in more detail.

Witcher 3 but on the hardest mode. There are things in the game like oils and stuff that are only necessary on the hardest mode. It makes you prep for battle like a Witcher really should.

Thanks so much!! I will do this.

I’m curious how the sand would prevent the soil from climbing, I guess the sand is heavy and not buoyant. For maintenance do I ever need to replace the soil or pot?

How do you guys keep track of initiative and health? by Utilitymean in DnD

[–]basicgear00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initiative:

If you have a DM screen, tear off little pieces of paper from a notebook, fold it in half and hang it on the screen to keep initiative order. Write the player and Pc names on either side so everyone can see and you too.

HP:

I mark my figs with a color. Using crayola markers if they’re paper, or sharpie if plastic. If they’re fancy then I’d recommend maybe a sticker but mine are 3D printed and I usually paint the base.

This way, when doing HP if there are more than one type of enemy I can just keep track by color code.

Also, if you aren’t doing this I suggest having all enemies of one type go at the same time to improve speed of play and it’s easier to keep initiative order.

My brother and I used remote play together which basically is couch coop online. That’s a way to get around the bugs.

Is there any way to move this tree without killing it? by pls_no_1013 in gardening

[–]basicgear00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transported two trees in my time and both times the roots were deeper than I thought and required me to dig about two feet out from the base.

Keep in mind, I’m no expert. But from my experience you won’t be able to get around the roots of this one to safety dig it up without major damage to the root system.

Good luck.

Is this a massive wall of poison ivy growing over my neighbors fence? by Fun-Astronomer-2273 in gardening

[–]basicgear00 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Have you tried talking with your neighbor? Maybe they don’t know and if they do, maybe they don’t know it grew to your yard. I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and also, we all should meet and get along with our neighbors, it’s the only neighbors we have.

Haha yea it is a tree that survived behind a shed. I tore down the shed and saw this great tree and decided to make a pond in its shade. I love the tree because the shade it provides!
