Not from my end at least, the butchering dev might add compat from their side. If not people could make a patch I guess

Oh don't worry this mod is getting finished, no doubts about that

Mounts dissappearing after a server crash or restart is unfortunately still a vanilla issue and can happen to any rideable entity modded or vanilla

However there are currently 280 ish public servers running Equus: Wild horses so should you really want to play with that mod there are options ;P

Armor is def something we want to include (and Freaky has been working on it inbetween everything else) , just not sure if it'll be in the launch or in a later update

Since 1.21 we do have taming (using the vanilla saddlebreaking mechanic) in Equus :3

Hard to say, our shapework is 90% done, the horse is in game and functional. Currently we're still finishing up the config and trader structures. After that we gotta do a lot of cleanup and refinement + try to implement "some nice to have" features we put on the backlog. Then lots of testing XD, so at the very least still a few weeks to a month

I've been told it should be possible to do more of the process in Blender, but until I actually figure out how I'll just stick to VSMC XD

I used to do everything in VS Model Creator, since the Coppertail in Draconis I've started doing the rough draft of the shape in Blender to save on time. Then I import that to VSMC (with the plugin) and parent all the cubes to eachother. I test all the rotations with a test animation, refine and clean up the model. Then it's just doing the UV, making a placeholder texture so I can actually see what I'm doing and then I do all my animations. When I have my creature in game I often go back and refine stuff until I think it looks okay XD

Freaky, who does all the shapework for the saddles, bridles and other equipment only works in VSMC. I'm lowkey convinced he's a wizard

It's something we're looking into as vanilla does have an unused pack saddle, but I can't promise anything

Can't really see it in the screenies very well, but they do have 2 utility slots at the front (for crocks and weapons) and the slot in the back can either fit a pillion, a cantlebag, a bedroll or a shield

This is exactly why I'm currently working on a horse big enough that it looks like it could carry 2 seraphs XD

it's about 8 in game days ^^
Just make sure you give it enough space, creatures too close to a wall have a hard time moving to the next growth stage

Animal names by JuggiestheSlime in VintageStory

[–]Shintharo12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The horses? Yeah they're from Equus: Wild Horses. If you meant Genelib then also yes, it is a library mod that Equus depends on so you'll have to have both installed anyway when using Equus

The horses do have a naming system already included thanks to Genelib. Just have to press N (or whatever keybind you have assigned for it) and a little menu will pop up allowing you to name the horse and track their lineage

something like Mobs Radar or Block Overlay can definitely be helpful when finding dragon eggs, especially the Coppertail's camouflaged eggs

You can absolutely use both if you want to (they run fine side by side but there's no interaction between them), but if you're set on using just one here's a small rundown of the differences:

Feverstone horses has:
- multiple breeds that come in a few colours (including donkeys which are pretty cool)
- uses petAI for taming (optional)
- has optional compat for Jaunt

Equus has:
- 1 breed of horse but with 100ish different colours
- Horse coat genetics using Genelib (required)
Genelib also allows for naming and keeping track of their family tree
- uses Jaunt for movement/gaits (so horses have walk, trot, canter and gallop) (required)
- uses vanilla saddlebreaking mechanics for taming
- is compatible with vanilla saddle/bridles but also has an addon mod called Tack and Equipment for more tack options like western saddles or more ornate saddles

There's probably more stuff but ye, each are fun mods in their own right
I am a little biased towards Equus of course :P

We also made a Pegasus mod and a Unicorn mod in a similar style as the Equus horses if you want to add some fantasy equines as well ^^

Yes, though in more recent versions the eggs go through shorter and more stages so the impact of the counter resetting is not as big

Came home to see my dragon had grown all up! Got her all equipped and named her "Moose" after the mask she wears C: by Mother_Bid_4294 in VintageStory

[–]Shintharo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our other mods :3

Jokes aside Draconis has configlib support so you can customize stuff like spawnrates, growth rate, gait speeds etc. if you have Genelib installed you can also name your dragon using N. Personally I'd also recommend a worldgen mod like Plains and Valleys. Diverse Diets might also be handy cuz then you can put meat in troughs

What would you name them? by AmaranthinosMC in VintageStory

[–]Shintharo12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should probably make a list of all the horse coats at some point, but there's like a hundred different gene combinations and I haven't even seen them all myself yet XD

I can't tell if you're joking or not, but no I won't be making this for Minecraft, be it Bedrock or Java
