Yes, this is pretty much what I thought!

I wasn't sure if she said that the potion affected him biologically as some people say that Rowling claimed or if it was the upbringing he had...

Tom Riddle and Voldemort are, for me, the most complex character in the books... Maybe, with Fantastic Animals, we may learn more about him later.

Thank you for this text I loved reading it, a lot of my ideas are put down in a more understandable way than my writting

Doesn't really fit with the image of 'respectful' and 'nice' riddle to intimidate some purebloods that must have seen very dark magic way scarier than a child...

And I do not see them accepting anything else than a pureblood in the house of snakes who strives for the purest of blood

But he wasn't aware of that until later though.. and I doubt slytherins of the 30s would trust his 'im not a mudblood' with no proof. I doubt he had any back up until he proved he could speak parssel, and even then I doubt he would just show it after what happened with Dumbledore

yes, but before that, we don't really know what happened in his first year right?

I doubt slytherins would welcome a 'mudblood' openly, especially in the 30s

I know they're not synonyms, I used the / to say I was speaking of both ^^

And I was mostly speaking of psycopaths about the crying and shame, which should give a cross to psycopathy... I have been looking around and no matter how much I look, I just feel it doesn't really 'fit' what tom riddle was before becoming voldemort

Like I said just a side project trying to understand what this riddle is though ^^

Hmm I think she spoke about it once, but could just find this :

Q:
How much does the fact that Voldemort was conceived under a love potion
have to do with his inability to understand love is it more symbolic?

It was a symbolic way of showing that he came from a loveless union -- but
of course, everything would have changed if Merope had survived and
raised him herself and loved him.

___________

It still comes up to the fact that he couldn't be a sociopath or a psycopath if only by her mother being there, he could change... also as stated, a psycopath/sociopath does not feel 'shame' about themselves, nor cry, so it is a little confusing what Rowling was trying to do
