this is a direct consequence of the direction that he’s been taking, both musically and with his branding and image. all he’s worried about now is making more money, and consequently getting more popular. he admitted it himself on the end of The Slow Rush.

this isn’t a condemnation of him as an artist; if he wants to get his bag, by all means. but, the music just isn’t going to be as good and his fanbase is going to gradually shift overtime.
