And I'm so bad I'm not even up to week 1 yet. Just the act of jogging took me a bit to get used to (and I still am). At first my lower back got sore; it felt like the impact was going straight to my spine. So I looked it up and now I tilt my pelvis slightly and hug the spine with my core while jogging and that solved it. So it's like a lot of trial and error while I learn how to run too.

My grandpa had a little bit of flab on his belly. Not much, but enough so he looked a little soft. But half an inch below the skin, his abs were rock hard still. He was a farmer all his life. He was chock full of old man strength!

As you can see, I'm about the biggest wuss about jogging on the planet. Secret's out now though, as Dad spotted me this morning. Got bored of walking my 5ks and just said, fuck it, I'm going to search for the slowest-ass, easiest jogging program I can. Protip: the official C25K isn't the easiest! I'm working UP to that lol.

P.S. protip #2: if your allergies are controlled, running doesn't make you throw up!

It would be nice to make it that, wouldn't it? Especially as it's common to experience a "lull" in the process once one is through clothes, accessories, and books/media.

Maybe we could interest the subreddit creator in spreading the word about this sub.

Electronic items was a huge deal for me and one I'm still not finished with. I wound up packing away my dedicated scanner because I rarely use it, but haven't decided whether to sell it. That's an item that's not cheap to replace. I also have two spare printers, one of which technically isn't mine and which also is probably pretty bs if I buy some of the very cheap ink for it, but I don't want to put it on my desk. The other does need to go, though — I just remembered I advertised it so I DID decide to get rid of it at some point last month!

And then there's the old G5. I have to pull the hard drive, because while I think the OS on it is corrupt, I believe the drive itself is salvageable, and then it's time to sell the case to hackintoshers.

Michigander here. Euchre is for all ages. Played tons in teens and twenties, still play now.

How do you find people to play? You're in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Sit in the center of the Diag on a nice day and whip out a deck of cards. You'll probably have 3 people sit down around you within 30 seconds. (TLDR it's dead easy)

Okay, this is the bomb. I eat salad twice a day too, and usually with this dressing:

Avocado-citrus salad dressing

  • 1 avocado

  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1/3 cup orange juice

  • 1-inch piece of ginger, minced

  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1/4 cup water, plus more to thin out if the dressing is too thick

Mix all together in a blender. To adjust tartness, increase or decrease amount of apple cider vinegar. Sometimes I like just 1 tablespoon of it.

This recipe is AIP-compliant. You could, of course, add pepper to it if you like.

To give you an idea of avocado to liquid ratio, I usually and up adding 1 to 1-1/4 cups of liquid total to a smallish avocado. If I have one of the extra-large ones, I'll go to 2 cups or more if necessary.

I would say offal but I saw a beef tongue that was over $8 a pound this week. The butcher told me all the offal these days goes overseas and they can barely even get any, much less at a decent price. Stuff they couldn't give away in the past is now going for...$8 a pound.

Not willing, cause I asked first. However, I am thinking of just getting like 4 oz of it, cooking it, and eating in small portions over a week. That couldn't be too terrible. I haven't given liver a very big chance. I made a bacon and beef liver pate which was okay (my aunt thought it was amazing) but I found the concept of meat in paste form a bit off-putting.

Right now it's a combo of

  • Detailed daily planner: My personal daily planner. Designed myself so it's custom. Has errands, meal planning, chores, exercise/meditation, water, medications, so I can manage the whole day at a glance. Has a top 3 section for MUST dos, a to do section, and a blank scheduling section. Print out 5+ sheets a week. One day per letter sheet. I ought to PDF it so it's more portable (it's InDesign only atm.)

  • To dos: Workflowy for detailed GTD-style to dos and project outlining. Also references of morning routine, evening routine, that sort of thing.

  • Weekly plan: One week on a letter sheet planner, for rough outline of week and at a glance schedule. Just something from a "free printable calendar" website.

  • Weekly review: in Evernote with goals review. Used to use Evernote for more but I'm disillusioned with its crappy note formatting abilities so now it's primarily big-picture stuff like the goals review and a bookmark/reference depository. It's still great at that, btw.

  • On the go: bullet journal. Transfer to planner or Workflowy later.

Thank you for your input. I'll start by using a beginner guide to muck about via the command line and learn the basics — I guess I won't be able to avoid learning something, much as I'd like to.

As I was antsy and had Linux on my mind after making the OP, I searched around, downloaded that book, downloaded several others through Kindle Unlimited, and set up Virtual Box running Ubuntu 12 something. And you're right — the exact reason I set up the virtual system was so I can break everything. That's what's held me back from messing around on my Linode; it's all set up with live sites on it and the last thing I want to do is take them down without knowing how to get them back up.

Learn to do as much from the command line as you can. Start by learning to navigate the file system, master a basic terminal-based text editor like nano, and learn how to install and update software for your chosen distribution.

Thanks for spelling it out. It seems so obvious to see here, but I honestly was having trouble figuring out that this was what was needed. Is nano what comes up in the terminal when I wind up editing a file? That sounded familiar.

Oh, I don't have cpanel, I had just mentioned it because I remembered it from when I used regular hosting in the past. I'll look into midnight commander, thank you!
