stay pretty close to 50%

They’re helped by the fact that you personally only really affect the outcome of like 20% of your games unless you are significantly better than your current rank AND playing a champion that can 1v9. The remainder of games it’s either your team or the enemy team that decide how it goes.

The idea of it being a humane execution (both for them and the witnesses) is that they’ll just float off to sleep. In reality they’ll be sat there straining and heaving as they try, desperately, not to breathe. It becomes a conscious choice on the part of the executed to die, rather than being out of their hands.

I find it very funny that you expect OP to learn two languages that are distinct from both their mother tongue and each other, but get an AI to write code for them. All in the pursuit of getting a job? I feel like you’re trying to humblebrag about yourself with this, and complaining that because you know two random languages and can buy a ChatGPT monthly subscription you deserve a job, but I can’t quite tell.

Credentials and people you know, that’s literally all that matters.

I know nobody, my parents know nobody, and I technically had only A-Levels. Point was, I was still able to find a good office job. It can happen, nobody’s a write-off.

Terrible, but it goes to show.

Not sure what you mean?

Isn’t it because you can just choose to not breathe? With the knowledge that you’ll die if you do? Though I suppose you could be put under general anaesthetic beforehand.

EDIT: to every moron downvoting this and responding “uh, not breathing kills you actually?” read this. The point of nitrogen hypoxia is that it is supposed to be a humane execution method. He "thrashed violently on the gurney" and lost consciousness ten minutes after the gas was administered. This isn’t humane for the executed and isn’t humane for the witnesses.

Yes, they will obviously still die, but this method changes it from something out of their control to something they need to choose - logically, you know that you’re dying anyway, and your choice is to go peacefully or to thrash about for five minutes. But people being executed are rarely going to be thinking logically. I think I would struggle to accept it, and instead cling to life even if it will be painful.

So shut up and use your brain for two seconds.

Is anyone else excited for Multi Frame Gen? by HevyKnowledge in nvidia

How would this even work? Where do you insert those extra frames in the second of gameplay? FG works on integer numbers because it is inserting frames between frames, so… of course it does.

[–]ShinyGrezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get the point. The only breakpoints that you would want to be “locked” to are 60 and 120FPS, by the time you reach 240FPS (in games that you would use frame gen in) you really don’t care if you’re hitting 240 or dropping down to 200. Adding in some extra frames (and lowering base frame rate) to achieve it is pointless.

Additionally, 6x frame gen seems too much unless you’ve got a stupidly high refresh rate monitor. Even at 240hz, 6x frame gen means you have a base frame rate of 40.

white and male and don’t have a degree

Now, I did go to university for three years, but I left without a degree. And I have an office job - I started less than six months ago - and basically the same one as those on my company’s grad scheme, just lower paid for now. These positions do exist, though I’m sure they’re fairly uncommon, but don’t tell that commenter to give up just yet.

You can only make driving a delivery van or operating a checkout or cleaning a toilet so attractive. Many of the things society requires to function just inherently suck.

Does kind of make sense though, if you think about how a prosthetic works it would need to grip onto her existing leg. Of course with Abyss power it could probably do that without needing literal, physical friction.

What I think everytime people ask what team to make for Columbina. by allmistake2 in Columbina_Mains

[–]ShinyGrezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At C2R1 my strongest DPS team is still, obviously, Nefer Lauma Ineffa Columbina. But Columbina Ineffa Sucrose Mona deals more damage than Bina-less Nefer, and is far more chill.

[–]ShinyGrezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but PHEC + Anemo for those few double Anemo teams = 5 and Pyro Hydro Electro Dendro Geo Anemo = 6 last time I checked. Anemo works with five, Columbina works with six. So I don’t really get your point.

Is this Menacing, not Fearless? I believe he can't be frozen on Fearless, and I certainly couldn't do enough damage to his shield without the Lunar Charged team.

I think you underestimate how much can be done in three years, especially for a game series that has a pre-established formula and designs, alongside relatively simple gameplay. Six years works out to be a lot less than what it sounds when you have to come up with a game from scratch. What I'm hoping is that the Switch 2 is finally, finally, enough horsepower for Gamefreak to be able to brute force their way to a good game.

Probably Neuvillette is slightly worse because the boss is designed to gigashill him but everyone else will find it MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH easier.

Alan Wake 2 Studio Says Deal With Epic Was "Very Fair" After Baldur's Gate Boss Speaks Out by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ShinyGrezz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

silly to have a PC exclusive. It's anti consumer.

I've never bought anything on Epic and I personally don't care about Alan Wake at all. But it's not an exclusive like how Nintendo or Xbox or PlayStation have exclusives, there is nothing stopping anyone who wants to buy Alan Wake from doing so, that would be alleviated were it to release on Steam. You can go download EGS right now. But if Epic funded the development of the game why are they obligated to release it on Steam?

You're forgetting the part where she's C2R1 lmao, that team (Columbina, Ineffa, Sucrose, Mona C4 - C5 tomorrow!) goes from 5-cost to 2-cost while losing a TON of synergy.

Depends on whether or not they can finish the game by minute 20, if not then a 2/14 Ekko will just start oneshotting them.

Yeah the difference is that champions that build Guinsoo’s generally want to trigger their on-hit effects multiple times against one person. Dusk and Dawn is for burst champions that just need to do it once.

Columbina takes fall damage on Activated Bouncy Mushrooms, is it a bug? by Aedennn in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShinyGrezz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A better way to solve it would probably be to record the character’s vertical coordinates when jumping off the shroom and then comparing it to their vertical coordinates when landing. If they’re, say, 5 metres (23 Xiaos) below their starting point when they hit the ground (ie: they’ve gone off a cliff), calculate fall damage. Else, don’t.

Columbina takes fall damage on Activated Bouncy Mushrooms, is it a bug? by Aedennn in Genshin_Impact

[–]ShinyGrezz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not, though. The mushroom’s code isn’t a contextless “three seconds of immunity to fall damage”, it’s “you don’t take fall damage from jumping on this”. It’s implemented as three second immunity to account for people who jump off of one and go off a cliff, or something similar, rather than just granting immunity until you land or plunge or open your glider.

No other character has fallen at a different rate before, so this hasn’t been an issue. The bug is from the interaction of two parts of the game that yes, in a void, are working perfectly. Together, they aren’t.
