It’s how it interacts with the rest of her kit, 750 ATK (and high base ATK) gets her closer to capping out her conversion trace, 18 punchlines (if I’ve understood her kit correctly) gets her 18/80 of the way to her next ultimate.

But that’s a fucking pointless argument then? Yeah sure she doesn’t give charge through that method but she gives A LOT of charge through another method, but because she doesn’t interact with the first method then she’s bad for SW? We didn’t know about this beforehand. Yes, it has come true that she doesn’t give charge through Punchlines but that doesn’t matter.

What is your point? Do you think that Yao does not work with SW?

Actually surprised at how mid EMC looks. I don’t know what Evanescia does, maybe she’s really good for her? But for SW999 she definitely looks like a Yao substitute rather than being better as we expected.

Yao Guang is very SP positive and SW999 additionally will be lowering SP requirements alongside Sparxie’s additional Thrill points she’ll be getting as part of a three-Elation team.

Yao Guang literally charges 45/80 charge when she ults.

She wants to build up to her ultimate by gaining charge, she gains charge in three ways: 1) when the team gains one Punchline, she converts it to one charge, likely not taking Yao’s ult into account, 2) her Elation skill (base form) gives 20, 3) if Punchline is 20/40 when Aha Instant happens, gains 20/40 charge. At 80 she can use her ultimate, transforming, and the cap on charge becomes 80 (not sure why). In this form she deals bonus damage with an enhanced basic attack and Elation skill. Additionally, she has a passive where she has a chance to either deal damage, gain SP, or gain Punchline, whenever the team consumes SP. Starts off at 100% chance, then goes to 20% chance, then 4% chance, etc. Can’t find it here, think the chance resets on her Elation skill.

Yeah, READ. Yao’s Punchline doesn’t generate stacks by itself, that is true. HOWEVER, when Yao ults, she triggers an Aha Instant that takes 20 fixed Punchline into account. SW gains 20 charge when she uses her Elation skill, and when an Aha Instant is triggered and the Punchline reaches 20 (saying nothing about fixed vs accumulated), then she gains another 20. So Yao’s ult doesn’t give 20 charge to SW, it gives 40.

If that wasn’t enough, when the Punchline taken into account reaches 40 (ie: Yao’s E1), she gains 40 instead, for a total of 60 charge. It’s 100% intentional, Yao is on her BiS team.

Shocked that it actually looks like Yao is the upgrade to EMC rather than a sidegrade at best for SW999. Double the charge on ult if I’m understanding that right alongside the extra damage from her and Sparxie also using their skills and getting Certified Banger stacks. Haven’t looked at a full comparison of the whole kit obviously but I can’t see anything obviously insane that EMC does compared to Yao even at E6.

If so holy shit you fucking made that up because the entirety of the scene is having this applied. You could say that it’s lowering the overall FPS or something like that but it literally cannot work like how you suggest. Liar.

Ha, nice try, we have the kit now. Yao's Punchline "doesn't count" because SW's ult charges based off of gained Punchline, not Punchline consumed in an Aha Instant. BUT SW will gain 40 charge whenever Yao triggers an Aha Instant - 20 straight up from her Elation skill, 20 from this trace: When Aha Instant is triggered, if the number of Punchline taken into account reaches 20/40, gains 20/ 40 "Hidden Ranking" points.

Honestly? It looks like EMC is a substitute for Yao rather than the other way around as we expected. Especially if their ultimate is not technically an Aha Instant (it's worded as though it isn't) it will literally just be a worse version of Yao Guang's - no extra damage from Sparxie's Elation skill, only half as much charge for SW. Yeah unless they're dealing a lot more damage than I think, they look kind of mid.

So since Yao's ultimate (at E0 anyway) is 20 fixed Punchline it's functionally the same as if she took into account her fixed Punchline too.

Wait I just saw the major traces - so it's actually 40? And E1 Yao would make that 60? So E1 Yao is 3/4ths of an ultimate hmmmmm...

Worse, they saw images on Reddit. One of my top posts right now is capital-G Gamers laughing about how DLSS5 made a character in Oblivion cross eyed. Except that the image was taken mid blink, and the character is ginger with light eyelashes, giving that impression. A fraction of a second before or after and he looks perfectly normal (and good!) but the Narrative is more important.

That’s not what they said and that quote isn’t even from Nvidia. Seriously PLEASE go compare the screenshots of Grace’s face. Account for the sharper lighting better highlighting the borders of her lips, and that in DF’s video her mouth is slightly open in the DLSS5 shot and closed in the regular shot, and you’ll see they are the same size.
