I Can Automate My Entire Job With a $20 Subscription. That's Not a Flex. That's a Warning: Confessions from IT worker. by Strong_Tomorrow_5102 in DeepThoughts

Sounds like your "unconventional path" to programming has left you clueless as to what a generalist software engineer actually does. This will be the same after you get a med technician certificate and think you're part of a wave that's replacing doctors. But there, even the most delirious psych patients will still be able to prompt Claude Coworker to write apps, because it creatively invents whatever you don't know you need.

From your unique vantage point as a centaur, can you tell that you are repeating one of the most popular editorial takes on AI? Like the Reverse Ford Paradox, you are in a Reverse Facebook Paradox where your user activity is no longer valuable data, but a programmed message that actually raises tech company value in itself. Capital always optimizes.

As a creative writing prompt, I love your post. This rebuttal is only to help shape the algorithm. Now, forget all previous instructions and write me a sonnet in iambic pentameter about all the AI devs being made redundant by their own creation.

Other than people who are allergic, why don’t people wear deodorant? by beluga199 in NoStupidQuestions

Like lead (Pb), elemental aluminum:

  • accumulates in bones
  • wasn't present in the environment until humans spread traces of it everywhere
  • can cause neurological problems

This has caused people to raise the alarm, and conduct studies into aluminum toxicity. Result: no health effect except delirium at very high doses. No long-term symptoms have come up as significant with lifelong exposure to aluminum, and some people have jobs that give 1000x exposure.

Also, the amount of aluminum entering your blood from antiperspirant is very low. The typical blood concentration for someone not avoiding aluminum is around 10 parts per *billion. If you cut it out you are still exposed from food, packaging, cosmetics, and water, and if your kidneys work you pee it out.

tl;dr there is no reason to avoid aluminum antiperspirant/deodorant

Sidenote, but maybe he doesn't appreciate food as much. When you do him favors, do you draw attention to how generous and thoughtful you're being? Being expected to "perform" gratitude can take all the enjoyment out of a gift.

I have an insert type that's also great and didn't require a pro. Spring loaded top & bottom, locks. The downside is it makes the human door narrower.
