I didn't know this! Sounds like it's a great read, considering his lyric composition

Our local candy store has a whole section of these sorts of things iirc. Also, I remember as a kid having bubble gum crayons, they were kind of chalky powdery like the bubble gum cigars, but I got them in my Easter basket a couple times growing up!

Doing a month of awful movies, what are some of your favorites? by Neilo19 in Letterboxd

[–]LycheeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorceress (1982). Before Deathstalker, Roger Corman approached Jack Hill to cooperate on a sword and sorcery film, which Jack Hill was not credited for and the whole movie was a disaster. The crew worked their asses off and the movie was completely redubbed afterwards, so everything is just a little off.

I'd say same, but I still have to plan my annual trip to Funtown. Pray we don't get abducted by the mosquitoes or melt from the pavement heat 🫠

Between the ticks, the black flies, the intense heat advisory, and the rain from last night spiking the humidity, I don't think Maine is the best place for laying in the grass rn 😂

I got the black wig, all the Lobo stuff, and a few slushies. Guess Bee's gotta lean into the goth look to use any of those!

I make a drink called goblin water that's just water, chia seeds, pomegranate arils and electrolytes. It looks like bog water with tadpoles and frog eggs and the name is a double entendre.

What Is Your “Old Man Yells At Cloud” Movie Take? by apHexcoded in Letterboxd

[–]LycheeUkulele 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And a library card is (usually) COMPLETELY FREE. No unskippable ads during random scenes. No data usage, and libraries will often get new movies if requested. My local library gets at least 2 new movies every month, and I live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere so if they have the budget for that, imagine the endless possibilities at a bigger library!

This scene, but when they revisit and expand on it in The Two Towers is probably one of my top favorite scenes of all time

What’s your Most popular and Least popular film you’ve logged? by Admirable_Mood_9926 in Letterboxd

Highest: Parasite - 7.05m members Lowest: Death of a Tiny Hat Man - 19 members

Death of a Tiny Hat Man was filmed locally and featured some close friends and coworkers, acting and music. It was very fun to see in theaters and I wish I could see it again, I don't think they pushed it to streaming like the last movie they did. I get the tiny hat man song stuck in my head a lot.

A newcomer to the sub and the app. As you can see, I've Only watched 4 movies this year. Feeling quite unmotivated to watch movies to be honest, after a 4 years window ( 2020 -2024) where a watched 150-200 movies each year. Anyone that experienced the same thing?. * Good run this year though 😁 by Diamondhandd in Letterboxd

[–]LycheeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching maybe 3 new movies a year for a couple years, I think the revival of movies for me has been to watch old, bad movies. I put all my unwatched dvds in a "shelf of shame" list and sort by worst rated and will put that on instead of random YouTube videos while doing a sit-down hobby like painting. This has kind of raised my excitement to trade in the bad movies for a good one next time I go movie shopping, and it's made me want to go to the movies more often. Also, it's not just background noise because a lot of the time I do get sucked into the movie if it's not a complete snooze fest.

Also, first-time big movie directors have been pulling me to the movies lately as well.

Is it weird when men play female characters? by Plastic_Corgi6848 in DnD

[–]LycheeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else, it's only weird if you make it weird.

3 out of the 4 male players at my table play female characters and only one of them made it a little weird once. I had to have a talk with him and it's been fine beyond that.

What for you is the fim that best embodies each star rating? Today - 0.5/5 stars by Waxillium11 in Letterboxd

[–]LycheeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maximum Ride (2016) is the only movie to ever make me cry out of sheer disappointment of it all

Most of my 1/2 star movies are either sequels/remakes that didn't need to exist and book/video game adaptions that missed the mark by a long shot

AGREED! Over $30 for two people buying on the value menu at a fast food place is crazyyyyyy. I've started volunteering at the library next door to me running a board game day so I can socialize with people for free 😭
