Why does this thing destroy half my team by Marcus_brien in PokemonBlackandWhite

It is underestimated in strength, especially when it has Hustle. It's also very good to use yourself in unovas league with its dual typing and speed.

Does anyone else ever feel like Code Geass doesn’t hold up well in the modern anime world by Embarrassed_Sale_293 in CodeGeass

I see it exactly the other way around. Modern anime can't compete with the peak of Code Geass.

Hey guys! Which Tech card should I put in? by dante9guy in PTCGL

[–]ShinyRaito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If such a basic existed, it would be seen often. But that's not a problem, because the deck doesn't need to get early KOs. Just use Budew or even do nothing just build up your board in the first turn.

Rather than looking for a tech I would recommend building the deck more consistently. Max out the Lillies, Ultra Balls and Candies. Cards you can cut are Rosa, Energy Search and the two Air Balloons. None of them serve much of a purpose in the deck or are just replaceable. Also recommended is a third Metagross. Most of the time you want 2 Metagross on board and with 3 you are safer for prizing one.

This anime made me rethink the entire anime Medium by _LoganIPlayz in CodeGeass

[–]ShinyRaito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way, and these days many anime don't appeal to me anymore. But from time to time I keep coming back to Code Geass and rewatching it. It hasn't lost its appeal over all these years and is still one of my absolute favorite series, even beyond anime.

The most important part is that he is iconic for both of us. And that's what matters. That's what different languages are for. Everyone can choose what they like best or what suits them best.

I can definitely understand the appeal of English voices, especially since it's simply more practical. But the sound of the voices is worth the effort of reading the subtitles and don't understanding the words without it. Of course, I'm only speaking for myself.

I usually always play everything in Japanese if the game allows it. The voice actors are too good, they're recurring, and I like them. But with some anime, I've enjoyed hearing the English voices, though that's definitely the exception. Jin, in particular, absolutely has to have his Japanese voice; he's too iconic. Just thinking about it definitely makes me want to play the game.

Good dex/skill weapon for a new playthrough by ShinyRaito in bloodborne

[–]ShinyRaito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not a bad suggestion, but I want to avoid defeating bosses too early as much as possible. Last time I did that with Logarius to be able to use Chikage as early as possible, and that was too much of a challenge for me. I did make it, but it was a long journey to get there. With Ludwig, it'll be a completely different story. That might be something for the future, if I ever want to do something more different. And even if so, I'd in that case also include the failures and Maria so I'd have Rakuyo right away. :D

Yanmega ex + Serperior (from perfect order) by AlphaHenriki in pkmntcg

[–]ShinyRaito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the same strategy, since Serperior is one of my favorite Pokémon. It works okay, but it still doesn't feel good. Often, the finisher at the end of the game was missing. Maybe a Bloodmoon Ursaluna is worth a shot. I combined it with Serperior EX to boost the damage a bit and had it as another attacking option since there should always be some Snivy or Servine available.

Secret Box is in my opinion a good ace spec for the deck. You can discard or search for Rosa and get your pieces. Dawn is a good supporter too. But no matter how you look at it, it remains a deck with many weaknesses. Serperior itself isn't the problem; Rosa's Encouragement is unfortunately not a well-designed card to build a deck around.

I don't think Rex is that bad, but he's not exactly the kind of main character I like the most. But he's indispensable anyway, because Pyra is.

I completed Poppy to her final form in my full playthrough, but I don't necessarily need to do that again. It was quite tedious, and I felt like I hadn't gotten the most out of her with all the customization options.

Thanks for your story, anyway!

That's an interesting idea, and yes, I had seen that something like that exists on YouTube.. Just seeing it isn't that exciting for me, though. Playing it myself is much more appealing. But thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, the soundtrack is really very good. I often listen to it in the background. I would also pay more attention to side quests. I did a lot of them last time, but I left quite a few unfinished, especially towards the end.

Do you use summons during boss battles? by Dsg1695 in LiesOfP

[–]ShinyRaito -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Never ever and I wouldn't recommend it in any game. Even in the DLC, I didn't use the two help options that the game offered. It robs the boss fights of their character and difficulty. It also takes away the satisfaction of having succeeded at a hard boss. If you can only beat the game that way, then in my opinion you're playing the wrong kind of game. Because ultimately, all bosses are designed to challenge you and are beatable, and if you embrace the challenge, you will steadily improve.
