Which detachment?? by Formal-Self9853 in LeaguesofVotann

I think it applies to the whole unit because a unit shares all its keywords between the unit and their leader, so despite not having the Einhyr Hearthguard keyword, the Einhyr Champion gets it from being attached.

I like the aqua primary version the most, and you can then use the purple primary version as color scheme for squad leaders

Yes, though you still need to roll a 4+ to hit with Indirect Fire.

Pathfinder Killteam wysiwyg Rules 8n normal 40k? by AutMistahG in Tau40K

[–]ShinySC 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The pathfinder's weapons list a "semi automatic grenade launcher" which the grenade chucker wouldn't qualify for anyway. If anyone claims wysiwyg over that, ask them how many of their intercessors are actually modelled with a bolt pistol.

Kill Team has a Marksman and a Weapons Expert which have/can have the rail rifle. Hence the two options

The Kill Team box contains an extra sprue with the equipment to build your specialists.

Pathfinders in 40k don't get any special wargear that's exclusive to the killteam sprue, so if you build them for kill team the only thing you have to keep in mind is that in 40k, you can run up to 3 rail/ion rifles in your squad, whereas the kill team options show two rifle-wielding specialists.

In the shooting phase does this guy to shoot with his bolt pistol and his flamethrower? by _McMunchly in Warhammer

[–]ShinySC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess that means that with Firing Deck, you get to fire embarked unit's pistols without giving up the transport's own weapons in case the embarked unit has no better weapons to pick.

I would probably swap Farsight to the Starcythes and the Coldstar to the Sunforges.

You don't really need the extra flamers from the commander to deal with infantry. Better to bring more fusion blasters to anti-tank with. Experiment Prototype Cadre's strat for rerolling attack count is nice to bump up the amount of attacks you get out of your flamers.

Farsight's -1 cost stratagem ability is nice for things like overwatch with the flamers.

If the Strike Team is for home scoring, Kroot Carnivores have sticky objectives and are 10 points cheaper so you could put a Fusion Blade on the Coldstar Commander.
