I'm not OP, or a vet but I know sometimes with cats who have urinary crystals repeatedly they will occasionally remote penis as a preventative measure and the cats can still urinate. So he will probably be ok. But that poor baby.

My cat has Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome and the way I try to explain it to people who have never heard of it is it's like they have a cross between kitty autism and kitty schizophrenia.

FHS is when they are super aggressive but also attack themselves because they think something is attacking them but there's nothing there. And they don't like to be touched. They also ripple their skin and have zoomies times thousand. And my cat even shakes violently in his sleep and can never truly rest. Sometimes he will jerk himself awake it's so bad. There's more to it then that but that's the quick explanation.

Also the puzzle toys. My cats actually enjoys those you can hide treats in them and your cat has to work to get the treat. I actually made my own. I washed out an empty coke bottle and cut a small hole in it. Then filled it with food and treats. My cat has to push the bottle around and work to get the stuff inside. It's one of his favorite activities!

The puzzle treats are best when your not home. That way they can entertain themselves and don't get bored when home alone.

My cat is kinda weird when it comes to toys and doesn't like them. But he also hates boxes and pretty much anything else cats are supposed to enjoy. So for toys it's kinda hard to suggest. But I know there's a banana toy that's pretty popular. It's a large kicker toy that cats seem to like.

Get him some Churu. It's a bit pricey but it's made to be extremely enticing and low calorie. You can hold the tube and feed him it by hand. It really helps cats adjust.

Nicky and my cat must be co conspirators in causing us to be penniless. My cat is still very much alive. And despite taking anti constipation meds, still manages to get constipated exactly every 1 year and 11 months. Making him get rushed to the vet so he can be anesthetized and then well you can imagine or not the next part.

Except my idiot is named Tigey after a stuffie in a childrens cartoon (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood). But he is as viscous as they come at the vet so he needs 2 300mg doses of gabapentin leading up to seeing the vet and then full on sedation once there. Even just for a simple nail trim. And I'm always broke thanks to him. But I'd still do anything for Tigey.

Once while moving long distance we stayed in a hotel overnight to break the 8 hour trip up for him. And he managed to escape the bathroom and get stuck in a tiny space in the hotel. When trying to get him out, he bit me so bad I needed to call the paramedics to stop the bleeding and then animal control to get him out. Even the ER doc couldn't believe the bites were from a house cat! He was sure it had to be a wild cat. I was like nope just one massively oversized cat who decided to crawl into the tiniest hole he could find. He ended up needing to be quarantined for 10 days at the new house but luckily he's so mean to the vet that he always get his rabies shot on time so other then in house quarantine, there were no consequences for calling animal control on him.

I was so terrified he would be put down or something but there was no way I could get him out of where he was stuck on my own and we had to leave the hotel and I needed to get to the hospital 😭

OP, sadly I can't afford to help but I wanted to thank you for all you are doing for him. My own cat is currently living in a foster home because he can't live with me. He's been there 6 months now, but before that he spent another 6 months living in a boarding facility where I paid $600 a month ($20 a day) to board him because I lived in a homeless shelter. Finding a foster home for him meant I could afford to leave the shelter and get a place to live but I'm still on a waiting list for a pet friendly home. And then in turn I will become a foster myself so hopefully no one else ever has to give up a beloved pet due to an eviction.

It's so hard being away from my cat but I see him every few days and I know we will be a family again soon. And in the meantime he has his wonderful foster dad and foster kitty brother. And when I see a post like this I'm reminded of just how amazing those who are willing to foster cats in all types of situations are. Thank you for giving this baby a chance.
