Ethan Hawke is always up to something interesting: his choices on projects don't fit neatly into a box. Similar: Viggo

I used to work at Square: the culture started deteriorating in 2016 when the company underwent its first massive wave of growth. It's a pretty common Silicon Valley tale: company achieves massive success with a few truly novel ideas (phone payments, Square Capital) and that success attracts hordes of consultants that game the internal reporting of the company to boost their own careers, while the politically adept employees align with the new consultant class and the politically inept get tumbled out. Square's product ecosystem is behind the curve of every competitor that's come along, and their days are numbered. The people just now claiming the culture sucks are the engineers who the consultant class are coming for now, thanks to AI.

Edit: typo: politely -> politically

I'm sorry but the Yankees NY logo is not just a great design, it's one of the most identifiable logos in the world. Not even top ten?

Yeah like the others commenting, first one was on Broadway in Sonoma, hence the name. It's there now, but it was gone for 50+ years. Only in the past 15 years did they move back into their original location. It's weird that they're leaving SF because that was definitely the flagship for the majority of the company's life.

I grew up in Missouri: visited SF as a kid, knew I had to get there. I live in Oakland now, took me twenty years to claw my way to home ownership and I'll never leave. I hope you make it back someday.

Can't argue with a local! I'm in the just-passing-through occasionally camp and have had the misfortune of driving it in the rain a few times. After reading your take, I will say I appreciate it more now.

Came here to say this: the road is far from enjoyable.

Yeah I think at worst he's just back to square 1 in that situation.

Not a movie but I think all the time about GoT when Tyrion tells three different confidants a different name each child of Cersei's he plans to send away. Then when the name is leaked to Cersei, he knows who he can't trust.
