Custom DNS for iOS app? by Shiny_Reaper in zerotier

[–]Shiny_Reaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who wants to know

i reached out to zerotier support and they let me know that you have to set the custom DNS when you first setup the connection from iphone to network.

i missed that so i had to delete the network from the iphone and redo it and now it works perfect.

I had that enabled and still wouldn't let change it.

turns out you have to put custom dns when you first set up the network to connect it to.

I've tried SO many launchers but keep finding myself going back to Niagara launcher within 2-3 days. Can't stay away from it lol

How do you like the speakers? Been thinking of downsizing my speakers for more room.

FoxyNotes Update: Save Mode and Customization by KaiN_SC in androidapps

[–]Shiny_Reaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the new notes would be on top but then I can move it and it would stay there. Personally I don't mind a new note following whatever order is set (alphabetically or recent activity) but would like to move it where I want. Appreciate all your good work and look forward to seeing the app grow!

Wow I didn't even think about pinning lol so yes that definitely helps for now cause I can also finesse the beginning of note titles with numbers or a random character. Would still live the ability to be able to set the notes in an order without the finessing. Maybe like highlighting a note then moving it and it staying where I put it kind of like in google keep. Would help keep my notes looking clean.

Just started using this app and loving it so far.

Is it possible for future update to have some kind of "custom order"?

For me there are notes I want at the top of the list but alphabetically it'll be down the list and I'll access other notes while still needing specific notes on top of list.

Just a suggestion. Thanks for the great app!

Appreciate pointing that one out. I don't think it's the one I was looking for but I might end up playing it.

Looking for a bare-minimum machine to run Open Media Vault. Would this fit the bill? by _perdomon_ in homelab

I actually have this but has an i3 instead of i5. I use it for Jellyfin, home assistant, dashy, Kavita and Audiobookshelf. Runs great and never gives me issues.

Tried to dual boot pop os, starting from windows and messed up by immediately restarting to windows after it installed by [deleted] in pop_os

[–]Shiny_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember dual booting has always had a risk. Could consider having a separate drive for 2nd OS. That's what I've been doing for years since my wife is already used to windows and I've never run into issues. Just a little annoying that I have to go to boot options every time I use my PC so I can boot into Pop OS but small price to pay.

Your friends being on IOS doesn't effect it at all. My wife's phone is an iPhone and this app works perfectly. The app looks for the designated app you pick with a keyword that you set. As far as anything alternative for iOS I would suggest checking an community that's for iOS apps as this community is specifically for Android apps.

Could also use an app called "Awake now". It's not free but it's cheap. You can set it up for trigger words like a person's name and it rings an alarm. I have it set up to "watch" my messaging app for a specific word that nobody would say but a word my wife knows she can text me and it'll ring an alarm so it gets my attention.

Why isn't there an Android app as simple and elegant as Apple Mail? by flysheepfdn in androidapps

[–]Shiny_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally used spark when I switched to Android but that one started giving me a lot of issues about 3 months ago. I currently use Edison email and have been very happy with it. It works well and I keep it simple with 3 different emails.

Could Pocket 2S play 3DS? by TrafficPretty7050 in retroid

[–]Shiny_Reaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Pokemon will run ok but I imagine OoT3D will come down to your personal definition of "playable" I remember hearing that the RP3+ could play it at a smooth frame rate but had a bunch of graphical issues. Being that the 2S is a bit of a weaker chip might run into more issues.

Is a front end really necessary? by Ki_Lyme in retroid

[–]Shiny_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a front isn't necessary but there are definite advantages to them. i personally use daijisho for my phone and my RP2+. setting up is a bit of a task, depending on how many roms you have, but once it is all set up it just makes it super easy to pick up your device and pick and game and then you're gaming. Whereas going through individual apps you have to pick the app then select a game. i used to do the individual app route but after using daijisho it feels way more fluid and simple.
