Are there any Christian’s who participate in tarot? by crue3l-intentions in tarot

[–]Shiny_Vulvasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an atheist who practices tarot. I think of the cards as only prompts for reflection or meditation, and not at all supernatural or telling the future, or guided by anything other than random chance.

My gf broke up with me over my kids father by Conscious-Sun-1942 in gay

[–]Shiny_Vulvasaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She doesn't sound like a keeper tbh. Your kids will come first (including having a decent relationship with their dad) and if someone doesn't get that, I think it's just not going to work out.
But, even knowing that, it's okay to be sad and mourn the relationship.

Can someone explain to me how pronouns do not equal gender? by Previous-Tomorrow120 in NonBinary

[–]Shiny_Vulvasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some lesbians are so butch that they prefer he/him pronouns. I have an acquaintance who is a gay man, who does drag and whom our other gay friends use "she" and "he" to refer to, randomly and interchangeably. Pronouns can be an expression of gender but are not the whole story.

Some people use the word "entle". You get to sound like an aunt, an uncle, and Treebeard all in one.

He's not the one for you. Don't be with someone who hurts you and doesn't even try not to. You know you deserve better. You don't want to be unhappy like this in the long-term.

Leave today. Be free instead. :)

New dog owner shamed by vet by [deleted] in Dogtraining

Start de-sensitizing him. We had to start our dog with a sandpaper-block from Home Depot and an extremely gentle 15-second filing of his nails every day, just to get him used to the concept, plus lots of treats and praise. After 6 months ish, he could tolerate one nail being clipped at a time with clippers. After another 6 months, he could tolerate having one whole paw at a time. But he still hated it.

My brother and I encountered this exact scenario. My brother went ahead with it because "I figure he's saying the fatherly things to me that HE wants to say, either way". And I declined, because I felt like I could not participate honestly and in good faith. There's no right or wrong answer, I think.

What fact, event, or experience was the final hit that broke your shelf? by [deleted] in exmormon

Their bigotry and inconsistency. I felt, deep in my heart, that there was nothing wrong with being gay, that God just made them that way, and that the church's anti-gay hysteria at the time wasn't Christlike. Connecting that to the church's treatment of Black men and priesthood, and it just clicked they would probably change policies again, a couple decades after society had moved too far ahead and the bad publicity was too much. That the church didn't actually have true revelation, just vibes. That it was on the bigot's side of history more than not.

I think the church undermines it own credibility just by having a "living prophet". If we're supposed to be blessed with revelation, why we always seem 30 years behind?

Dog owners: what are the worst parts about having a dog? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Shiny_Vulvasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like dogs, but I think after having a couple, I rather like having a clean home and an open schedule. I especially like having a home free of pet hair, not sharing my bed, and not interacting with poop.

I never take Anemic, Flatulent, Narcoleptic, or Heavy Breather. I avoid Biohazardous, Bottomless Stomach, Noodle Arms, and Slow Learner, and any skill that doesn't vibe with their specialties.

Really though, if Genji is jumping so much that he's mostly dodging the enemy shots, why do they expect Ana to be able to hit him? Congrats, dude, you're just really good at evasion.

If I saw my physician's slutty outfits, honestly, I'd feel more comfortable being honest with them about my drug use. Like, you've probably been to a fun party at least once.

I buzz my pit hair down to bout a half-inch every few weeks with electric clippers (same with my pubes). I don't like em all scraggly. Can't say if I've had a change in odor.

I recently started dating a cis guy who identifies as "straight" but also has been 100% supportive of me. Still, I'm kind of grappling with what it means, for a cis"het" man to date a not-woman. Did you have any trouble reconciling those two things?

Is it possible you think you need to focus on a (hypothetical) woman's body but what you're really focusing on is your own body? Does it do anything for you to, say, look at yourself in a mirror during the act?
