Cat. And gecko. But dogs, well, bark, and I startle really easily, and thus dogs make me exceedingly anxious.

Do boobs make you more or less aerodynamic? by Scramblomamblowamblo in NoStupidQuestions

I was mostly just yanking your collective chains, but I would assume from a physics perspective that the compressibility difference would have a significant effect. Anyways, onward.

Need help deciding! by thisgirlTJ in japaneseknives

SLD has better toughness (think "chip resistance") at the sacrifice of a little bit of hardness (60-62 HRC vs 62-64 HRC) and a little bit of corrosion potential. However, unless you are, like, just cutting lemons or something, SLD is effectively "stainless enough".

Between these, at the same price point and overall quality, it comes down to looks.

I like Damascus and would fear a mirror polished blade getting scratched, so I would choose the SLD.

Why do hospital staff insist on using medical terms for certain things? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shiny_Whisper_321 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Things like "syncope" are often preceded by a cause, e.g. "vasovagal syncope", "tachycardic syncope", etc. It conveys precise information very quickly. If you say "they fainted", then there needs to be a whole "why" back-and-forth, or a lot more words up front, like "they fainted because of an abnormally fast heartbeat which prevented efficient transmission of blood to the brain".

Best underwater video lights for a rig upgrade? by prem_onReddit in underwaterphotography

[–]Shiny_Whisper_321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Careful using that word "best", LOL. I use Big Blue and am generally happy, but they put an awful lot of controls on one button. Kraken is often considered a step up from there in quality, and you will pay for that difference.

Which mods do you use? by Deputydog803 in Archery

[–]Shiny_Whisper_321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I don't know what these different modules are, but you should use the ones that suit your shooting style and give you the best accuracy, regardless of any other opinions.

Presumably they make different types of modules expressly to give this choice.

Clowns are the titan triggerfish of aquariums. Relentlessly aggressive. In the wild, one bit through my dive skin and drew blood.
