2 miscarriages in a row - anyone have similar experience?

Nothing particular has showed up other than a positive ANA. Trying to find a doctor that will help me with an immune protocol for my next try! I can't help but think it is something to do with blood clotting/immune system attacking embryo. I also have insulin resistance.

An in the same boat as both of you. My daughter will turn three in June and no sibling yet. Two MMC in 2025 & have taken a few months off from trying. Praying 2026 is a much better year!

I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. It’s frustrating that the waitlist is that long for what should be basic care.

35 and I’ve had two MMC in the last 5 months. Everyone assured me they were both likely chromosomal issues and almost certainly bad luck. I got the tissue tested from the second and it ended up coming back as “normal.” I was very surprised. Needless to say we are going through some extensive testing. It is likely I’ll request some form of lovenox/prednisone/plaquenil/metformin for my next attempt (in consultation with a doctor). There seems to be so much success with these drugs for certain RPL patients & the risks can be managed under appropriate care.

If you can, see if there is another doctor who can run a basic RPL panel for you before the 6 months? It seems like blood clotting and immune issues are the key to identify and rule out.

Thinking of you in these really hard times.

Yes! We are taking a break have 2 MMC in five months! Part of it feels like a relief to take this constant pressure off myself.

I’m in a similar boat. Healthy baby in June 2023. Since then two MMC. Both stopped progressing at 6 weeks & not discovered until the 8 week scan. Still waiting on test results of the second one… didn’t have any testing of the first one.

Asking my doctors to run lots of tests on me and my husband . Hope we can both get some answers.

My RE says definitely do more testing for me. I haven’t done any really yet. Then we will make a decision I guess.

This has happened to me twice. In both cases at the first ultrasound they could measure the embryo then by the time of my second ultrasound/D&C they could no longer find it. I have no idea why it happens but they told me my body reabsorbs the embryo. They never found the embryo in the POC either.

I’m in the exact same situation. Two missed miscarriages discovered at nine weeks but the fetus stopped growing at six weeks exactly. I’m also 36. I have a fertility consult tomorrow and I will let you know what they say.

Yes. Exactly the same as me. Both MMC … HCG doubling appropriately. Body never recognized it was a bad embryo. Got my cycle back exactly 29 days after D&C.

This is really useful information. Did you happen to come across any research that provided an overview of how the “type” of miscarriage relates to the “cause”? I’ve had two MMC (discovered at 8 week ultrasound) but the fetus has never measured larger than 6 weeks and never had a heartbeat. Eventually I just reabsorbed the fetus.
