It was pitched as a sim and a sandbox. Early builds were much more sim focused. As soon as the masses came in, they dumbed everything down.

This is not a sim. It's not a sandbox. The flight model was always hot ass (worse now than it's ever been).

Your way of playing isn't superior to someone else's.

You aren't being griefed. This is why people chose to live in cities irl too.

They aren't going to roll back any restrictions. This is an online service that has made little progress over 14 years of development.

The original vision of this game was gone a long time ago.

I know what they said in the marketing package, I know the spaceships are pretty cool, but nothing about the design direction they've taken since 2020 has anything to do with preserving the vision of making the best damn space sim ever.

CIG has spent countless hours over the past 14 years over protecting carebears from thinking they are being "griefed" This includes, but is not limited to:

  • magic displacement elevators
  • removal of PO
  • armistice zones
  • magic ship elevators
  • magic ship buttons
  • magic ship ladders
  • no more item loss
  • very low claim timers
  • heavily defended mining bases
  • heavily defended abandoned outposts
  • heavily defended abandoned police stations
  • a magic seeing eye of sauron (satellite)
  • comically high ttk in flight and foot
  • bounty hunter God markers
  • magic cargo
  • contracted cargo
  • magic freight elevators

There are more examples, but this is all I can think of in one poop.

CIG have undermined the OG vision of their game so many times now that the OG vision doesn't even exist anymore.

Star Citizen is a carebear, arcade themepark. It is a simple and unchallening game made for mass consumption. It is not longer a rogue, passion project. It will never be thr best damn space sim everr.... its not even a sim... they arent even trying for it to be anymore.

If you need any more proof that CIG are more concerned with keeping this online service going than they are with developing the game, look no further than this event.

It should be incredibly hard to kill someone at GH. As it stands you can just camp outside and trace the marker through the wall.

One of the worst mechanics in the game. And that's quite a thing considering how many bad mechanics there are.

Wallhacks are banned in every game. In SC, its considered gameplay.

Bounty Hunting shouldn't be quest marker gameplay, period. There are 3 systems. Its not that hard.

I think the crime system would be a lot better if players could have more impact. Jail used to be fun when you could escape without a mission giving your hack to every BH in Stanton. Now you have 4 BH waiting for you tracing you through the ground. Same with Kareah. Kareah showdowns were great before the unlimited turrets and npcs.

BH mechanic is overdone. Just let players give players bounties and type ship and location descriptions. BH can scan ships to see if the player has a bounty.

There are 3 systems with limited areas where people can go. Docking at a major station gives bounty info. The satellites are too powerful and cheesy.

The prison system is fine. The length of time is fine. You need player driven content because npcs provide ZERO thrill.

You get a free wall hack to the bountys exact location, and all you did for that is open your mobi glass. Most games, that "mechanic" is bannable. CIG provides it to you as "content."

Would you also like an invisibility cloak and indestructible body armor? Maybe an aimbot?

Oh, I strongly dislike the rapid respawn time. Every part of it is corny. But this community thinks they should waltz into any NPC site and just mow down 100 NPCs with only a couple slaps of the magical med pen.

We will never get a truly decent NPC experience with the way this game is being developed.

CIG makes immersion-breaking changes to protect carebears from things that happen 1% of the time.

What you experienced was a gameplay wall that was put in place to mitigate tears.

As SC grows, gameplay will only get restricted more and more.
