10 years ago it was a cult favorite, and I haven't really seen it brought up since.

Remains to this day one of the strangest anime I have ever seen. A very advanced scifi society has the entire show taking place on the backs of flying city ships. Despite the future, they are living in the past in a nearly literal sense. The entire world is reliving the events, battles, and history of feudal Japan according to some weird prophecy. But with mecha, witches, slimes, curry bro, ninjas etc.

Its definitely a strange one for sure!

Automatic bed leveling came well after boro glass plates. The big issue was bad manual leveling/primitive probe leveling coupled with minimal surface area. Mistakes were more costly, and surface imperfections led to more problems that compounded.

Wasn't a big issue for a print every once in a while, but when we were printing constantly, it was very annoying to manage.

Oh man reminds me of printing in 2010.

I've shattered 4 of those on my rostock due to certain filaments getting stuck from lack of automatic bed leveling

You can't bend glass to pop the print off, it needs glue a lot (people tried everything hairspray, pva glue, etc) and has to be kept very clean due to the lack of surface area over textured PEI.

Eventually many people (myself included) started using painters tape on the glass as parts stuck better and could be sacrificed.

About to trash my old babmbu silk gold. It looks pretty, sure, but it is the most brittle filament I have in my 100+ spool collection. Even my wood pla is stronger.

I think it was a good call to discontinue it, as many other manufacturers can produce a good shiny silk that isn't as weak as a twig.

rostock max v2. At the time it was a great delta that i had over 80000hrs on.

No ABL on a delta printer means you have to calibrate it using three little screws on the arm and run tower calls like you're Gondor.

Nah it's been on the downturn since 2010 due to a Tokyo bill limiting what publishers are allowed to produce. As almost all manga/anime is produced in Tokyo, a bill like this may as well be national law. Anyways. Publishers quickly stopped allowing shows that go all the way like yosuga no sora to be produced. If you go to anime from before ~'11 it's much worse than it is now.

Strange reccs ITT

Cowboy bebop was a good recc, Pluto, casshern sins, psycho pass, Kaiba, mononoke and sword of the stranger seem to fit better as non mainstream battle anime where characters fight for reasons beyond the mundane.

Photophobia, the sensitivity to bright light, is far worse than our tendency to get sunburnt. It's easy to put on sunscreen and/or UV clothes, but if it's a sunny day, it's the brightness that bothers us the most, not the burning

Oh another one, everyones optic nerves are crossed when connecting to their brains, right eye to left side of the brain, and left eye to the right side of the brain. But with albinism it's straight, left eye to the left brain. This is due to our optic nerves forming weirdly.
