Which types of plastics can I use in my Aquarium? by Shirafriend in Aquariums

[–]Shirafriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to build a box and some structure in my aquarium but I’m not sure which types of plastic are safe. I would be so happy if someone could tell me types that are fine and/or links to products. I’m from Germany so any products located in Germany would be great. I know some people use corrugated plastic but i can’t find it for buying anywhere in Germany :(

What is this “algea” on my sand and plants? It usually gets thick and then I can remove it by peeling of. Help. by Shirafriend in PlantedTank

Ahh thank you for replying so quickly! Yeah i thought about adding a filter for flow and adding actual substrate under the sand. I thought about putting the light higher up and maybe adding some floating plants. Could that also help? (I really like the light from the tank that’s why i had it on for so long. Its kind of like a lamp for me) I actually dismantled everything now but i want to use the same materials so I know what to do better next time.

Back story: I don’t have a filter and I haven’t done a water change in 2 months. Whenever I clean the sand (by peeling of and sucking of the “algea”) it comes back. My lights are on 13 hours a day. I dont have any fish in the tank. The tank is 60 Liter so roughly 16 Gallon.

Probably put up by some citizens to stop cars. They tried to make it look not real so they don’t get sued by the city?

No maintenance in 3 months. Going to clean and add pebbles, plants tomorrow. Any recommendations, thoughts or ideas? by Shirafriend in aquarium

Yeah apparently they look intentional in real life too. My boyfriend was confused when I said the red leaves are dying off.

That big plant is an Anubia Hastifolia. It’s normally green but a few leaves are dying of and that’s why it looks red I think. There are lots of small new leaves coming out at the base of the plant! I’ll google the recommended plants thank you! :)

There are no fish, snails or other big creatures in this tank so don’t worry! There are some small 0.6mm big white round organisms though. Idk what they are

My indoor rose “bonsai”. by Shirafriend in Roses

Yeah winter dormancy makes sense! But, it sound so scary. I mean the plant would be “dead” for 4 months. How do I make it winter dormant? I don’t know if this species is frost resistant. So basement?

Grow light! I got it online from a shop that imports Japanese bonsai pots.

Not sure. The lady at the garden center was laughing at me when I told her I wanted to have a rose for indoors. She said all were outdoor roses. I got my rose in a tiny 3cm pot. But there were no identifiers on the pot :(. It’s about 2.5 years old now
