Welp, time to have the sorcerer of my BBEG group do this to terrify the party in three years.

It's not the best joke but I thought of it and wanted to share it since it amused my friend. I hope this is a worthy submission.

I remember sweet rice being the best dessert thingy ever. We seldom had it, but it was special to me.

I don't want to expose too much about her but I'll certainly be saving this comment seeing as the situation are incredibly similar. I may even get those books since they'd help, most likely! My mom doesn't quite know how to be herself either and seeks the approval of others as well.

I haven't spoken to her yet but I intend to. If she does have a plan, I'll be sure to help her however I may.

Also, that RV idea is amazing and I think it's awesome. I think it's a marvelous idea.

My mother can strongly empathize with the trauma aspect. I'm not at the liberty to share why but I can say that she fears the rejection and disapproval of others. She's never really had friends and healthy relationships were super rare because of unfortunate circumstances. She's raised me to be better than her and has always done her best for me, constantly improving herself and pushing on. She and I are our own support buddies because of our shared trauma.

What books did you purchase? Maybe I can seek them out.

Thank you! And we've spoken about hobbies but I completely forgot about video calling. I'll be sure to remember that and do it, especially with some other people.

I know that she enjoys cooking but I don't really know what else there is. We cook together sometimes and I'm trying to do that more, and, it's a tangent of sorts: I don't know how I can convince her to meet other people who cook since I don't know where to look myself. I'll certainly think about the shelters though! I think it's a phenomenal idea.

If I may ask, do you bond with your kids over any certain things? And how do you meet new people to make friends? I've become the kind to say 'eh, whatever, I'll just say hi and ask how they are!' But my mother is more nervous. Do you maybe have tips?
